| Abstract | A toilet or laundry bar comprising 30 to 70% by weight of soap or a mixture of soap and synthetic detergent reckoned as anhydrous; 0.1 to 20% by weight ofmineral or organic acid; 5 to 30% by weight of alkaline silicate; and 10 to 40% by weight of water. The presence of alkaline silicate and mineral or organic acid allows the amount of soap in the bar to be reduced while maintaining acceptable bar properties. |
