| Abstract | : The precise linear measuring instrument is based on Linear expansion, ill which the micro length Is expanded about 50 times so that it can be measured directly on the scale provided in the instrument. The characteristic features of this instrument are as follow (i) Unlike the Vernier calliper there is no requirement of measuring the Coincidence linear or the matching lines. The micro reading can be directly obtained. The error in the measurement can thus be reduced. (11) The time required to take measurements is also reduced since the readings can be directly taken, (ill) No special training is required. Any common man can take measuremeits; (iv) The precise linerar measuring instrument can be used by or can be attached to any mechanical machine, there linear measurements axe carried and with accuracy. (v) The design and fabrication of this instrument is extremely simple. Could be fabricated to specific size as per requirement. (vi) High3y accurate end precise. |
