A spinning ring (1) of a ring spinning machine with an oblique flange (11) is arranged in such a manner that the running area (13) on the inner side of the spinning ring comprises a radius (R2) of approx. 25 rom, said radius changing into into a radius (R1) which is at least 1 mm at the position of the smallest inner diameter (0) of the spinning ring (1). The arch (12') on the running section (12) of the spinning ring (1) comprises a height (H) which is, at the very most, 1/3 higher than the thickness (K) of said arch. This allows the use of travellers with low outer dimensions and consequently allows the selection of a larger wire thickness for the traveller material, thus considerably increasing the endurance life of the traveller in the ring spinning machine as compared to that of the state of the art. The radius (R1), which is large compared with the state of the art, and the radius (R2), which is comparatively small, lead to a near constant surface pressure between the ring traveller and the spinning ring, thus enabling a stable run during the spinning process. |
