Title of Invention	PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN IMPROVED DENTAL PASTE
Abstract	This invention relates to the development of an improved dental paste for use in the preparation of dental cement for instant application. The cement is made by mixing two parts namely a first part and a second part. This invention is based on an organic oligomer Bisphenol A-Glycidyl methacrylate (BIS-GMA) thinned with dimethacrylate lmonomers such as TEGDMA or EDMA and the resuJting mixtt.-ure (20-40 parts by weight) is mixed with silenised inorganic filJers such as quartz, silica or different gJasses etc. (60-80 parts by weight1, the particJe size of the fi]Jer being Jess than 50 microns. The paste is incorporated with recry~taJJised dibenzoyl peroxide 10.5 -2.0 parts by weight of the thinned oligomer) being the initiator which reacts with the tertiary amine in the second part at room tern perat-ure tD initiate the cement form ation. The paste also contains 10-100 ppm of hydroquino~ or' butylated hydroxy tDJuene as inhibtDr and UV stabilisers. The cured cement made using this paste cJaims tD satisfy the properties stipulated by American Dental Association Specification No.27 providing a dimetral tensile strength value of 30-40 MPa and a compressive strength of 180-220 MPa.
