Abstract	Ballasting system for fluorescent lamps having improved energy transfer capabilities and which delivers a sinusoidal current waveform free of high order harmonics and induces a similar waveform into the power distribution system. The system includes a low leakage reactance auto-transformer which is tuned to the line frequency, and a separately-wound heating transformer and means for switching energy from the heating transformer each half cycle.
