Title of Invention

DYNAMIC SCOLIOSIS BRACE FOR SCOLIOTIC CURVES IN THE SPINE

Abstract The invention in general relates to a Dynamic Scoliosis Brace for the scoliotic curves in the spine. The DYNAMIC SCOLIOSIS BRACE" is an adjustable 'tailor-made' brace for daily wear under the clothes for non surgical treatment of scoliosis with dynamic correction achieved on a day to day basis by simple manipulation of the device. It is made of 4/2 pieces of high density polypropylene sheets as per individual moulds and divided into 2 components for easy wearing and maneuverability. The pieces are interconnected with threaded rods moving on slotted fixtures both at the anterior and posterior.
Full Text

The present Invention relates to an Scoliosis Brace and more particularly to a Dynamic SCOLTOTIS Brace for the scotiotic curves In the spine to provide the effective managemant and correction of single and double scoliotic curves.

a two sets (2A, 3A) of first front velcro strap mechanism between top left hand side and top right han d side segments,

d. a second connecting means Including a pluralityof pivot rods having top threaded portion(23) and bottom plyot ball(29) where in the said rod firstly

adapted to be fitted slidably through said holes of said metal ring of segments and also top threaded portion(23) adapted to be screwed onto projection sheet of top segments and further battom pivot ball(29) adapted to fit Into the socket(30) of bottom segmentss, and
- Wherein the plurality of rods means at least one rod fitted onto
left segments and one rod onto right segments. ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
C3n continued use of patients with scliosis, the Dynamic scoliosis Brace as per the Invention has the following advantages:
a) effective In correcting scoliotic deformldes;
b) Light and comfortable to wear - It can be worn under the drew, even by young girts, without being noticeable - thus giving patients almost normal ease of movement;
c) easily manageable by the patient himself/herself (to put on an off);
d) very cost effective, because It can be adjusted for the spurt In adolescent growth and the changing curvature of the spline; one brace Is enough till correction Is complete.
It will be apparent that the preferred embodiments of the Invention disclosed are well designed to fulfill the objects stated, It will be appreciated that Invention Is
well understood to those skilled In the art and that all changes and modifications that come without departing the spirit thereof Is also assumed to be covered In the specification of the Invention and In the claims made In the Invention.

WE CLAIM
1. A Dynamic Scoliosis Brace for Scoliotic curves in the spine comprising:
a brace means comprising:
a left top segment(l) configured to be fixed in the left under arm portion having an outer metal rings at the edge provided with holes, a first projection sheet having at least three holes and positioned centrally in the segment and a second projection sheet having at least three holes positioned at front side of the segment,
a right top segment(3) configured to be fixed in the right under arm portion having an outer metal rings at the edge provided with holes, a first projection sheet having at least three holes positioned centrally of the segment and a second projection sheet having at least three holes positioned at front side of the segment,
a left bottom segment(2) configured to be fixed in the left pelvic portion having an outer metal rings at the edge provided with recess, a projection sheet having at least three holes positioned centrally of the segment and a semicircular external projection of segment at the front side configured to act as a ball-socket arrangements,
a right bottom segment(4} configured to be fixed in the right pelvic portion having an outer metal rings at the edge provided with recess,

a projection sheet having at least three holes positioned
centrally of the segment and a semicircular external projection
in the segment at the front side configured to act as a ball-
socliet arrangement, a connecting Velcro means comprising
a two sets (200, 300) of first front Velcro straps between top
left and top right segments,
a two sets (201, 301) of second back Velcro straps between top
left and top right segments,
a two sets (400, 500) of third front Velcro straps between
bottom left and bottom right segments,
a two sets (401, 501) of fourth back Velcro straps between
bottom left and left and bottom right segments,
a one set(IQO) of firth Velcro straps between front and rear
portion of top left segments,
a one set (101) of sixth Velcro straps between front and rear
portion of the right segment, a first connecting means comprising a plurality of vertical rods having top and bottom threaded portions (23) wherein the said rod firstly adapted to be fitted slidably through said holes of said metal rings of segments and also top threaded portion(23) adapted to be screwed onto projection sheet of top segments and further bottom threaded(23) portion adapted to be screwed onto projection sheet of bottom segment, and

wherein the plurality of rods means at least one rod fitted onto left segments and one rod onto right segments, a second connecting means comprising a plurality of pivot rods having top threaded portion(23) and bottom pivot ball(29) wherein the said rod firstly adapted to be fitted slidably through said holes of said metal rings of segments and also top threaded portion(23) adapted to be screwed onto projection sheet of top segments and further bottom pivot ball(29) adapted to fit into the socket(30) of bottom segments, and
wherein the plurality of rods means at least one rod fitted onto left segments and one rod onto right segments.
