Full Text | FORM 2 THE PATENTS ACT, 1970 (39 Of 1970) COMPLETE SPECIFICATION (See Section 10, rule 13) AN IMPROVED TWIN LOCK PLATE GODREJ & BOYCE MFG. CO. LTD. of LOCKS DIVISION PLANT-18, PIROJSHANAGAR, VIKHROLI, MUMBAI - 400 079 MAHARASHTRA, India INDIAN Company The following specification particularly describes the nature of the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed : - ORIGINAL 711/MUMNP/2003 14/7/03 GRANTED 1/4/2004 The invention relates to an improved twin lock plate for rigidly and securely locking the outlets of the fluid substances particularly of liquid fuel. More particularly the invention relates to an improved pilfer proof locking system which is closed by the individual hinge plate over the outlet having provision for locking of valve heels. The device consist of two hinge plate rotatably mounted on the hinge pin and are slideable along the pin axis to take care of variations of distance between valves. Substantially covered over the valve wheel stem-nut / wheel having open segment on its circumference which will be locked by means of padlock through the openings on the hinge plate, thereby preventing tampering with the locking system. The conventional locking of outlets of liquid fluids are not sufficient to prevent tampering because of the exposed valve wheels nuts which could be forced open by suitable tools and the whole locking assembly can be disclosed and further reassembled with the result the adulterated liquid fuels will result in tarnishing the goodwill of Company supplying the genuine liquid fuel. In the prior art there was a drawback of removing the valve nut by cutting, as it was accessible even after locking the wheel with individual lock. Therefore there is need to invent a pilfer proof locking system to avoid the aforesaid drawbacks. The principal object of this invention is therefore to provide an pilfer proof locking system which cannot be forced open/tampered by an unauthorized person. The another object of this invention is to provide several locking port on the hinge pin which is rotatably connected and slideable so as to adjust the alignment of holes provided on the hinge plate & the corresponding segment of the wheel. A padlock is used to lock the hinge plate which over the wheel nut with a wheel thereby providing no chances for forced tampering. Still further object of the invention is to provide an improved twin lock plate locking system which closes the two ports individually by individual hinge plates of the round circular, oval, square rectangular shape which is formed upward to fit into the valve wheel nut for complete covering of the wheel and nut. Accordingly there is provided an improved twin lock plate assembly consisting of two hinge late (1) rotatably mounted on the hinge pin (2) and slideable within the stopper (3) the hinge plate of round, oval, square or rectangular which is bulged upward to substantially cover the valve wheel nut (5) fitted on valve stem (6) having holes (4) plurality in number on the hinge plate for the shackle of padlock (7) for the locking of wheel segment so as to prevent the tampering of the valve. The invention will now be described with reference to figure 1 to 3 in the accompanying drawing. Figure 1: is the elevation of the assembly of an improved twin lock plate Figure 2: is the exploded view of an improved twin lock plate. Figure 3: is the prospective view of an improved twin lock plate. Referring to figures 1 to 3; the twin lock plate assembly consisting of two hinge plate (1) rotatably mounted on the hinge pin (2) and slideable within the stopper (3) the hinge plate of round, oval, square or rectangular which is bulged upward to substantially cover the valve wheel nut (5) fitted on valve stem (6), having holes (4) plurality in number on the hinge plate for the shackle of padlock (7) for the locking of wheel segment so as to prevent the tampering of the valve. The material used for this purpose is of non-sparking metal along with padlock due to the nature of the inflammable material. The hinge pin is a circular rod on which the hinge plate are rotatably mounted in between two end stopper which are slideable within the stopper. This is an embodiment of the invention. Several modifications are possible may be considered within the ambit and spirit of this invention. Since many modifications, variations and changes in details may be made to the above described embodiments, it is intended that all matters described in the foregoing description as described in the accompanying drawings. CLAIM: 1. An improved twin lock plate having at least two lock plates with assembly (Fig.l) consisting of two hinge plate (1) rotatably mounted on the hinge pin (2) and slideable within the stopper (3) the hinge plate of round, oval, square or rectangular which is bulged upward to substantially cover valve wheel nut (5) fitted on valve stem (6), having holes (4) plurality in number for the shackle of padlock (7) for the locking the wheel segment so as to prevent the tampering of the valve. 2. An improved twin lock plate as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hinge plate is provided with holes for locking at their sides so as to prevent the lifting up of the locking plate. 3. An improved twin lock plate as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hinge plate are rotatably mounted on the hinge pin. 4. An improved twin lock plate as claimed in claim 1, wherein the hinge plate is slideable along the hinge pin to take care of variation of the distance between valves.
