Full Text | FORM 2 THE PATENTS ACT, 1970 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION Section 10 "Oral herbal Ayurvedic composition for treatment of Psoriasis." Mahendra Kumar Jhunjhunwala, of Bhagwat Niwas, Flat No. 7C, Peddar Road, Mumbai, maharashtra, India, an Indian national. The following specification particularly describes and ascertains the nature of this invention and the manner in which it is to be performed: This invention relates to oral herbal Ayurvedic composition for treatment of Psoriasis and process of preparing the same. BACKGROUND Psoriasis is a skin disease which starts between the age group of 10-40 years and occurs more in winter than in summer. In this disease, skin at elbow, knee, hands, body or head is effected in the form of a small head of a pin type, filled with blood, projected papule and the top layer of the skin becomes in white colour. This papule increases and forms a diameter of half to one inch. Many papules like this are formed near one another and thereafter merge to form a bigger patch and spread all over the body. When this white layer is removed, 'stratum Mucolour' is seen. Psoriasis very often relapses. The exact reasons for this disease are not known but medical scientists believe that it might be due to hereditary, impurity of blood, bad food habits for instance taking Non Veg and milk, synthetic food, using synthetic body lotions, purposely stopping and delaying the natural discharges like urine etc. The Ayurvedic compositions for treatment of Psoriasis mentioned in Ayurvedic Shastra's in Latin name are 1. Herbs Swertia chirata and Viyey Negundo are grinded and made as paste for applying on the skin. 2. Herbs Swertia chirata, Amomom Subelatum, Bosbelia Therifera, Justicia Adhatoda Roxb, Calotropis Gigantea, Zingiber Officinate are taken, in equal quantities, grinded and mixed well in Cow's urine for eight days to form a paste for applying on the skin in sun. 3. Herbs Terminalia chebula, Pangamia Glabra Veny Sinapis Nigra, Curcuma Longs, Carum Carui and Embelia Ribis are taken in equal quantities, grinded and mixed in water to form paste and thereafter apply on the skin. At present following Ayurvedic composition is available in the market for treatment of Psoriasis. The capsules for oral treatment contains: clerodendrum Inerme, Hydnocarpus wightiana and lepidagathis cristata The paste for application on the skin contains: Hydrocarpus Wightiana, Lepidagathis Cristata, Pongamia glabra, Meua Azadirachta 10 % w.w and Base Both the medicines have to be administered simultaneously for cure. Since the disease very often relapses and is painful, it is the object of this invention to formulate a new oral Ayurvedic composition which is more effective when applied with paste of co-pending application no. and cures the patients within 6 to 8 months with no relapses. To achieve the said objective, this invention provides an oral herbal Ayurvedic composition which comprises Matricaria Chamomilla ' 88 % - 92 % Piper Nigrum (Only seeds) 8 % -- 12 % This invention also includes a process of preparing the Ayurvedic composition paste which comprises: cleaning, washing and drying the following herbs: Matricaria Chamomilla, Piper Nigrum (Only seeds) grinding the said ingredients individually or collectively to 300-500 mesh in the following proportions ( ) Matricaria Chamomilla ^ 88 % - 92 % Piper Nigrum (Only seeds) 8 % - 12 % mixing the said ingredients and encapsulating Washing of the herbs is done in distilled water. This invention further includes herbal Ayurvedic composition paste which forms the subject matter of co-pending application No. For full cure, the Ayurvedic paste and the oral capsule have to be administered simultaneously as prescribed by the physician depending upon the severity of the disease. This invention will now be described with reference to the following examples.
