| Abstract | The present invention discloses a process for the preparation of substituted aryl alkylamine compounds comprising the step of,reducing the substituted aryl acetonitrile substrate using Raney nickel catalyst at lower substrate/catalyst ratio of 20:1 to 6:1 with higher sybstrate concentration, at ramped temperature/ pressure profile, in the presence of an alcoholic solvent selected from C1 to C4 alcohol and isolating the corresponding substituted phenyl ethylamine as a suitable salt. |
