Title of Invention | "A MULTI-PART REUSABLE SPARK PLUG" |
---|---|
Abstract | A multi-part reusable spark plug comprising an insulated electrode (1), and a metallic holding block acting as a negative electrode (3), characterized in that the insulated electrode (1) is releasably secured with the metallic holding block (3) by means of a nut (2). |
Full Text | This invention relates to an improved sparking p 1 u g. The use of sparking plug in the petrol engines is well known in the art. The sparking plug known in the art comprises a positive insulated electrode secured to a metallic holding block with the help of an insulating material. The metallic block constitute the negative terminal so as to produce a sparking between said electrodes. The main disadvantage assocated with the known sparking plug is that the insulated positive electrode can not be replaced upon its non-functioning/shorting. Another disadvantage? is that due to the failure of the positive electrode of the sparking plug the whole plug becomes useless. Therefore the main object of this invention is to propose an improved sparking plug which obviates the disadvantages associated with the prior art. Another object of this invention is to propose, an improved sparking plug wherein the positive electrode i» secured with the holding block/negative electrode removably . Yet another object of this invention is to propose an improved sparking plug wherein the insulated positive electrode can foe replaced very easily upon its non functioning/shorting. According to this invention there is provided a sparking plug comprising an insulated electrode secured with a holding block/metallic electrode characterised in that said insulated electrode being secured with said matallic electrode by means of a nut removably and adapted to be replaced as and when required. In accordance with this invention the sparking plug has been devided into three components. The insulated electrode is adapted to be secured with a metallic electrode by means of a nut removably. The insulated electrode is adapted to be replaced upon its non functioning/shorting as and when required by the user. The sparking plug according to a prefered embodiment is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein :- Fig. 1 shows the sparking plug of this invention; Fig. 2 shows the insulated electrode. Fig. 3 shows the metallic, electrode. Fig. 4 shows the nut. Referring to the drawings particularly fig. 1 the sparking plug of this, invention has an insulated electrode 1. (fig.2) secured with a metallic electrode/ holding block 2 (fig.4) by means of a holding nut 3 (fig.3) such that the insulated electrode 1 is adapted to be replaced upon its non-functioning or shorting circuiting by unscrewing the nut 3 from the metallic electrode/holding block 2. The holding block constitute the negative terminal of the plut for producing sparking by the plug. Thus it is seen that the sparking plug of this invention has three components i.e. an insulated electrode 1 , holding block 2, and the holding nut. 3. When the insulated electrode 1 becomes non-functionable due to shorting circuiting it. can be replaced by unscrewing the nut from the metallic, electrode. We Claim 1. A multi - part reusable spark plug comprising an insulated electrode (1), and a metallic holding block acting as a negative electrode (3), characterized in that the insulated electrode (1) is releasably secured with the metallic holding block (3) by means of a nut (2). 2. A multi - part reusable spark plug substantially as herein described and illustrated. |
