Abstract

A compact handlebar for two or three-wheel vehicles, which has a box structure (11) and comprises a lower part (12) and an upper part (13) joined together, in the lower part (12) there being located elements or parts of the handlebar such as supports for the control levers, a clamp for its fixing to the steering column, and a front brake pump with relative reservoir; the lower part (12) of the handlebar is constructed in one piece by metal casting and has a body (14) from which there extend, also formed by casting, at least one support arm (16) for the rear brake handgrip (18), at least one plate-type support (20) for the rear brake lever (22), and, for the fixing to the vehicle steering column, a clamp (33) positioned in an aperture (41) in the body (14) and connected to the body (14) by ribbed flanges (34). To the lower part there can be fixed, or formed integral therewith, a unit comprising a support arm (15) for the accelerator control handgrip (17) and a plate-type support (19) for the front brake lever (21).

CLAIM: I. A handlebar for two or three-wheel vehicles, having a box structure (11) and comprising a lower part (12) and an upper part (13) joined together, in said lower part (12) there being located elements or parts of said handlebar supports for the control levers, a clamp fixed to the steering column, and a front brake pump with relative reservoir, characterised in that said lower part (12) is constructed in one piece by metal casting and has a body (14) from which there extend, also formed by casting, at least one support arm (16) for the rear brake handgrip (18), at least one plate-type support (20) for the rear brake lever (22), and, fixed to the vehicle steering column, a clamp (33) positioned in an aperture (41) in said body (14) and connected to said body (14) by ribbed flanges (34), there also being a support arm (15) for the accelerator control handgrip (17) and a plate-type support (19) for the front brake lever (21), which are formed as a single piece fixable to said body (14) of said lower part (12), wherein said plate-type support (19) for the said front brake lever (21) is provided with a component (23) for the front brake pump. 2. A handlebar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said component (23) for the front brake pump has a box element (24) acting as a reservoir, a conduit (25) directed towards a pump body and a conduit (26) directed towards an oil indicator, said component is covered with a cover. 3. A handlebar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said clamp (33) fixed to the vehicle steering column has a seat (37) for a nut cooperating with a locking screw. 4. A handlebar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said arm (16) has a tooth (31) on which a tube (32) is engaged for receiving said handgrip (18). 5. A handlebar as claimed in claim 1, wherein with said body (14) of said lower part (12) there is formed integral therewith a half-casing (42) arranged to house a pulley (43) forming part of the accelerator control handgrip (17). 6. A handlebar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said lower part (12) is formed by die-casting light alloy. 7. A handlebar as claimed in claim 1, wherein said upper part (13) is formed from plastic material. 8. A compact handlebar for two or three-wheel vehicles substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
