Title of Invention

A SILK OF SUPERIOR QUALITY AND HIGH YIELD

Abstract A silk of superior quality and high yield produced from a Mulberry silkworm hybrid named Swarnandhra, a cross of polyvoltine APM1 derived from pureline inbreed of Madagascar hybrids and bivoltine APS8 derived from pureline inbreed of Chinese hybrids, wherein the silk shows following characteristics: (i) international grade of 2A3A; (ii) reelability ranging between 80 and 90%; (iii) renditta ranging between 7.0 and 7.5 kg; (iv) floss percentage less than 5%; and (iv) greenish yellow color; and a cocoon of good yield and superior quality produced from a Mulberry silkworm hybrid named Swarnandhra, a cross of polyvoltine APM, derived from pureline inbreed of Madagascar hybrids and bivoltine APS8 derived from pureline inbreed of Chinese hybrids.
