| Abstract | A personal wearable communication system (11, 11a, 11b) providing improved quality audio response and not interfering with the wearer's activities or blocking environmental sounds is disclosed. A base (14) may carry an acoustic output device (16). A curved resilient gripping band (12) may be attached to the base (14) and gently engage a user's neck to position the acoustic output device 916) below the user's ear. A support arm (18) may extend from the base (14) and carry a microphone (20). The gripping band (12) may be rotatably muonted to the base (14) to allow positioning of the acoustic output device on either side of a user's head. The acoustic output device (16a) may be supported on la telescoping speaker arm (17). An upper section of the acoustic output device (16b) may be lseparated and hooked to the user's ear. |
