| Abstract | The invention relates to a drive for a spinning machine or a twisting machine, especially for a ring-spinning machine. Said drive contains driving means, which are associated with at least one drive shaft of machine components, for example spindles or drafting arrangements. When one such machine is subsequently modified due to modernisation, the transferable driving torque of the driving means is often no longer sufficient. For this reason, an additional drive is provided for the conversion of a machine, said drive being associated with at least one drive shaft and containing an auxiliary drive motor which is regulated in terms of the motor current.
