| Full Text | This Invention relates to a process for the preparation of an etched artistic foil or visual and to such a foil or visual produced therefrom. It is generally known that elec:' rof orming is an electro chemical process which allows parts on a carrier plate to form by electro-deposition of metal. Such a process consists in first producing a film on the part. A carrier plate is produced with a photo sensitive resist, and whereby a positive picture of %he part is transferred to the resist by photo exposure. After it develops, the carrier plate shows surfaces coated with the resist as well as metallic surfaces free of resist. On the metallic: surfaces free of resist, deposition takes place on the metal and thus forms the product by qalvanic deposition. This process is a lengthy process and the clear and good quality picture is not ob.tained. There the main object of this invention is to propose a novel process for the preparation of etched artistic, foil or visual. Another object of this invention is to propose an etched artistic foil or visual. prepared by the process of the present invention. According to this invention there is provided a process for the preparation of etched artistic foil or visual which comprises in the steps subjecting the same to the step of etching so as to prepare said foil or visual. The::- process for1 the preparation of an etched artistic foil or visual according to a preferred embodiment is herein described in detail. In accordance with this invention, a positive of a painting or artistic work is first prepared by the process of multiscreen quarter toning. Specifically according to this .invention the retouching/hand painting on the positive? is being done manually in order to provide different densities to make the positive clear and distinctive sw as to show the features of the artistic work clearly. Then the positive I?; subjected to the step of an etching in order to prepare the artistic foil of there work. Further in accordance with this invention it was found that a coloured painting did not yet required properties of clarity and distinct.!.veness. However, a positive was created from the black and grey* painting and the manual painting/retouching was done and the positive was subjected to the step of etching. It was found that, the visual had required clarity on •distint:tiv€-?ness. In distinction the texture of positive from the black and grey is recognised and the positive is painted/retouched manually to provide the required texture in the positive. A specifically according to thie invention the positive is prepared by the process of multiscreen quarter toning and then the retouching of the -positive is done manually to get the required texture. According to an option computer retouching may additionally or alternatively be employed.
