Abstract | A nozzle 20 is provided for filling containers, such as as pouches with detergent, bleach, fabric softener or lotion, which eliminates splashing and dripping. The nozzle 10 consists of a elongated tubular member 14 which receives liquid through a channel 12 of a conduit 11, at least one screen 22 being fitted at the outlet end to induce laminar flow. In the region of the screen a suction means 20, for removing excess liquid, is provided, in addition the nozzle is raised by either hydraulic or pneumatic means 40 or mechanical means (43, 44, fig 2) in order that the nozzle can be kept at a set level above the liquid during filling to reduce splashing. The flow of liquid can be enabled or disabled by use of a valve 26 which is preferably electromechanically controlled but may be mechanically controlled In the electromechanically controlled system the valve is opened and closed by use of a magnetic field produced by a coil 25 and magnet 27 in the valve stem guide 26. |
Full Text | The present invention relates to a multi track machine for forming, filling and subsequently sealing of deformable containers such as pouches or the like with fluids or semi-viscous fluids such as Shampoos, Ketchups, Jams, Creams, Oils and the like. It may here now be reflected that till date, a single track form, fill and seal machines are generally used in the industries for packing various fluids in flexible pouches with conventional dosing systems. It is also in the art to use single track machine using the process for filling and subsequent fusion welding of receptacles. With the said process, the totally manufactured receptacle/pouch which has been filled and tightly closed and sealed by the fusion welding procedure has only an inconsiderable residual amount of air remaining in the pouches by virtue of the step of the procedure including raising the fluid level. The volume corresponds in a practical sense to that of the filler connections. Since the filler connection cross section is diminished fatting the first welding procedure, the flow through opening of the filler connections is only quite small. Because of smalt incorporated air volumes obtained according to this procedure, the filled pouches are therefore quite suitable for use in infusion procedures. In practice, it is observed that the usage of existing technique in connection with filling and sealing machines have been found to be entirely unsatisfactory and do not lead to a complete hermetical seal without pores. Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a multi-track machine for forming, filling and subsequently sealing of a deformable container such as pouches of the like with fluids or semi-viscous fluids which is moval in its construction and obviates all disadvantages and draw backs associated with the filling and sealing machine existing in the art. A further object of the present invention is to provide ua mlti-track machine which is simple in its construction, more stable, light in weight occupying less floor area and elegant in its appearance. Figure 5: Shows diagrammatic and simplified view of the multi track machine according to the present invention. Referring now to the accompanying drawings 1 to 5 the multi track machine for forming, filling and subsequently sealing of deformable containers such as pouches or the like with fluids or semi viscous fluids such as shampoos, ketchups, jams, cream, oil and the like is made of special metal, thermoplastic and the like non rigid and resilient materials preferably by fabricating, moulding and extruding process which are fully stress relieved, comprises a real shaft loaded with a heat scalable plastic films or laminates (1) selected from polyester poly, metallized poly etc in the rool form (2) and is mounted on an un-winding frame (3) provided at the back of the said machine, the said unwinding frame contains braking means and dancing rooler means (4) which in turn adopted to control the tension in the film/laminate when on move by applying brakes on reel shaft co-ordinations with dancing rolls for smooth pouch formation, the pulling device to pull the said film/laminate to the front of the machine comprises a set of silicon rubber pull rollers which are driven through Lenz's electromagnetic clutch and brake means, the said film/laminate while being pulled through a set of aluminium alloy rollers gets divided into equal parts with the help of a sharp-edge knife being provided at the center of a turmbar unit (5). The sealing device which consist of a number of sealers/sealing jaw (6) having heaters inside to heat them for sealing to form pouches, the filling device consists of a feeding hopper/funnel (7) receiving fluids or semi-viscous fluids from main hopper (8) through rotary filling unit (9) for filing in the pouches through a valve, said valve (10) consisting of a mechanically actuated spool (11) having three openings, one opening is connected to the said feeding hopper (7), the second opening is connected to a cylinder (12) provided with a piston driver by an eccentric mechanism for varying the speed of the piston during suction and delivery strokes and third opening is connected to an outlet hose (13) for filling the said pouches, the pneumatic device for pneumatically actuating sets of cylinder for engaging and disengaging said feeding device and to cut desired batches of pouches with the help of perforation/batch cutter (14), an operator interface consisting of a screen display mounted on instrument panel to display faults in the functioning of the machine as and when they may occur, along with a warning buzzer, the said instrument panel, having heater monitor (15), temperature controller (16), speed indicator & totalizer (17), batch counter (18), photo cell panel (19) and main switch (20). There is programmable logic controller having 24 input/output capacity to control the overall operation of the machine and a voltage vector control drive utilizing insulated gate bipolar transistor state of art technology is used to control A.C. 3 phase motor of 3 H. P. (not shown in figures). Now for the operation of the multi track machine for forming fitting and subsequent sealing of deformable container such as pouches or the like with fluids or semi-viscous fluids such as shampoos, ketchups, jams, cream, oil and the like according to the present invention the reference is again made to figure 1 to 4, where when the said machine starts the pulling device pulls the laminates to the front of the machine by a set of silicon rubber pollers driven by a clutch and brake mechanism, the said film/laminate passes through various aluminium alloy rollers gets divided into two equal parts with the help of a sharp knife edge provided at the center of turn bar unit, the divided portions are diverted to opposite sides on the turn bar frame, they again join back through side rollers to be pulled in between the sealing jaws, the pulling is intermittent in function and is stopped when sealing is taking place but gets started immediately after the sealing is complete. The pouches on this machine are sealed from all the four sides. The pouches thus formed are called a four sides seal pouch. The vertical sealing is achieved through a set of vertical sealers mounted on a set of plates, the sealers are adjustable and contains heater inside for heating, the said sealer are controlled through a cam which gets drive from main motor The levers moved by the cam brings the sealing jaws closer so as to meet together for a particular time. The heated jaws seal the film portions positioned between them; this ensures vertical sealing or two sides sealing or pouches. The horizontal sealing is achieved through a horizontal sealer at the bottom of the mounting bracket. Thus once a horizontal sealing is done the pouches are pulled by said pulling rollers and filling takes place by filling device, thereafter top horizontal sealing is given after a said filling and pulling is completed. The horizontal sealing and perforation is done together where as matching and perforation is done together where as matching and emboss coding is done along with vertical sealing. The length of the pouch is controlled through photo cell control. The printed laminate have registration marks at equal lengths as desired. Photo cell unit senses the marks and stops pulling for uniform lengths.
