Abstract | Rotating floor cleaner unit for the powder spray booth comprising, a powder recovery suction module mounted by the side of the powder spray module and im-eller mounted on a bearing on the bottom floor of the said powder spray mopdule, freely rotating about a vertical axis. A hollow tube comprising the axis of rotation, being fixed to the bearing of the said impeller, to receive the said bottom floor of the powder spray module. |
Full Text | This invention relates to a rotating floor cleaner unit for the Powder Spray Booth. More particularly, the invention relates to a rotating impeller, which is functioning as the main rotating floor cleaner unit in the said powder spray booth. This rotating impeller is air driven type and it is mounted on the floor of the powder spray booth for blowing the over sprayed powder on the floor, back into the recovery module, thus making the booth floor clean. Prior Art During powder spraying processes, a part of the over-sprayed powder falls on the booth floor. Since this powder is to be recovered and recycled, it must first be transferred from the booth floor to a powder recovery system. This floor cleaning process must also be carried out prior to each color change in the booth. It is either done manually (using compressed air and a squeegee) or automatically (using a longitudinal reciprocating floor cleaner, or other complex devices). The manual process is slow and labor intensive. The automatic process is expensive and involves complex mechanical devices that require frequent maintenance. Objects of this Invention The primary object of this invention is to have the over -sprayed powder on the floor, transferred to the powder recovery module. The second object of this invention is to keep constantly blowing the over sprayed powder in to recovery module, thus keeping the booth clean, and there by reducing the booth cleaning time while doing a color change. Statement of Invention This invention consists of an air driven impeller, mounted in a bearing on the floor of the booth, and therefore free to rotate about a vertical axis. Compressed air is fed into a tube comprising the axis of rotation. This air then enters the hollow body of the impeller and emerges through air holes in the curved surface of the impeller. The air holes are drilled at a specific angle to the radius of the impeller. Because each air stream emerges at an angle to the radius, a torque is created, causing the impeller to rotate about its axis. The speed of rotation is determined by the pressure of the compressed air and by the angle of the holes with respect to the radius. Rotating floor cleaner unit for the powder spray booth comprising recovery suction module and powder spray module; said suction module is mounted by the side of the powder spray module wherein the said spray module is having an impeller mounted on a bearing on the bottom floor which is freely rotating about a vertical axis and the said impeller is connected to a hollow tube which forms the vertical axis of rotation is being fixed to the said bearing to receive the compressed air for rotating the impeller and lifting the over sprayed powder off the said bottom floor of the powder spray module The invention will now be described in greater detail with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein the Fig.1 shows the powder spray booth unit showing the rotating impeller unit fixed on its bottom floor. Fig.2 shows rotating impeller unit showing the air holes on its circumference. Description of the Invention The invention relates to a powder spray booth unit (1) consisting of a powder recovery suction module (2) and powder spray module (3). The powder recovery suction module (2) is mounted by the side of the powder spray module (3). The said powder spray module (3) has an impeller (4), mounted on a bearing on its bottom floor. Since this impeller is mounted on a bearing, it is freely rotatable about a vertical axis. A hollow tube (5), which is fixed to the bearing of this said impeller, forms the vertical axis of rotation. The impeller (4) has a hollow central chamber and is provided with air holes (6) on its curved surface. The air holes are drilled at a specified angle to the radius of the said impeller. The compressed air is fed into the hollow tube (5) comprising the axis of rotation. The air then enters the hollow body of the tube (5) and then into the hollow chamber of the impeller (4). Then the air emerges through the air holes (6) in the curved surface of the impeller (4). Because each air stream emerges at an angle to the radius of the impeller (4), a torque is created causing the impeller (4) to rotate about its axis. The speed of rotation of Impeller (4) is determined by the pressure of the compressed air and by the angles of the holes (6) with respect to the radius. This compressed air flow emerging through the air holes (6) lifts the over-sprayed powder off the said bottom floor of the powder spray module (3) and into the air stream created by the suction of the powder of the powder recovery suction module (2). The continuous rotation of the impeller (4) ensures that the over- sprayed powder is never allowed to settle down on the bottom floor of the powder spray module (3) and constantly sucked into the recovery module (2). The rotary motion ensures that the whole over-sprayed powder is lifted off the entire floor and not just parts of it. WE CLAIM, 1.
