| Abstract | A process for the monoacylation of polyols with alkyl and aryl Beta-Ketoesters. A process for the monoacylation of polyols with alkyl and aryl Beta-ketoesters comprising the steps of preparing a mixture of polyol and beta-ketoesters in the proportion range (molar ratio) of 4 to 8 of polyol and 1 of beta-ketoesters, exposing the said mixture to microwave irradiation of 2450 MHz frequency for a period of 1 -15 minutes in the presence of a thermally stabilising agent, to yield monoacyl polyol. |
| Full Text | The solution (reaction mixture with ethyl acetate) is concentrated and the product purified by column chrmatography to give a yield of 63-92% of monoacyl polyol. We Claim; 1. A process for monoacylatiojn of polyols with alkyl and aryl β-- ketoestors comprising the steps of prepsring a mixture of polyol and with in the proportion range (molar ratio) of 4 to 8 of polyol and 1 of betarketoesters; exposing the said mixture to 7. Monoacyl polyols of alkyl and aryl β-ketoesters whenever prepared by a process as claimed in any one of the preceding Claims. |
