Full Text This invention relates to & device -for use with a diesel engine for converting the seme to run on gaseous fuel like CNG, LNG, Propane, Butane, Biogas., LPG etc.
The conversion of the petrol engines into the gaseous fuel engine is well known. Further, the conversion of the diesei engine irsto the tjaBeous -fuel engine is- done with the import eel kite. However these kite ere very costly and also the converted emjine does not work efficiently, Therefore the conversion of diesel engine into gaseaus -fuel engine is not. ancouraged by the peopie in our country.
There-fore, the main object of this this invention is to propose a device -for use with a diesel engine -for converting the same into a gaseous fuel engine to run on the gaseous fuel such as CNG, LNG, Propane, Butane, Blogas, LPG etc.
Another object of this invention is to propose a device for use with a dieeei engine for converting the same into an efficient gaseous fuel engine and the life o-f the engine is not affected.
According to this invention there is provided a device for use with a diesel engine comprising a spacer fitted between the engine head and engine lock, a plurality of spark plugs being provided in the holes in the cylinder head of the engine, a distributor mounted on the engine block mate the distributor to timing gear without changing the timing ratio, a tappet cover/induction being provided with the gas carburation device to provide gas air mixture to the engine.
In accordance with this invention a spacer is provided between the engine head and engine block such that the compression ratio of the engine is made suitable to the compression value according to the gas intended to be used. Suitable Gaskets are used to sandwitch spacer between the engine head and the engine block. A distributor is mounted in place of a diesel injection pump. The distributor is mounted by means of a mounting device such that to mate the distributor to..

timing; gear without changing the timing ratio. A plurality of holes are drilled in the cylinder head for providing the spark plugs such that the spark plugs are placed at the fuel injectors pasition securatly, A tappet cover/induction opening is mounted with a gas carfouration device.
A device for use with a diesel engine according to a preferred embod embodiment is herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein ;-
Fig. 1 shows the block diagram of the device
Fig. 2 shows the section view of the engine head and engine blockFig. 3 shows sectional view of the- gas carburati on device and
Fig. 4 shows the plan view of the spacer.
Referring to the drawings particularly Fig.1,
•the device for use with a diesel engine for converting the same to run on gaseous fuel like CNG, LNG, Propane, Butane, Biogas, LPG etc. has a spacer 1 adapted to

be fitted between the engine head 2. and engine block 3 such that the compression ratio of the engine comes down to the ratio desired far correct compression value according to the gas intended to be used. Gaskets 4 and 5 are used to place the spacer (as shown in Fig. 4) between the engine head 2 and engine block 3 of the device in a leak proof manner. A distributor 6 is mounted on the engine body with the help or mounting means (not shown) such that to mate the distributor to timing gear without changing the timing ratio. The cylinder head 2 is drilled in order to provide a plurality of holes for fitting a plurality of spark plage- 7 therein such that to place the same at the fuel injectors positions accuratly. A gas regulator 8 is provided to supply the regulated gas so as to provide the mixture of fuel gas and air an the proper ratio. An air cleaner 9 is provided in order to supply the air require to be mixied with the gaseous -fuel by means of a gas carburation device
Reference is now made in Fig. 3, the gas. carburation device 10 according to this invention comprises an outer body 11 having an air inlet at the top end thereof. A gas regulator IS is provided that one side of the body 1.1 to supply the gas such that a proper mixture of the fuel gas and air is prepared. An outlet is provided at the bottom end o-f the body 11 for supplying gas air mixture to the combustion chamber of the engine.
As Shown in Fig. 4, the spacer comprises a metallic plate 14 having a plurality of big central holes 15 and a plurality of small holes; 16 provided on either sides of the plate 14 length wise provided for facilitating the fitting of the spacer between the head 2 and block 3 of the engine.
