| Abstract | The present invention relates to a process for preparing optically enriched (S,S)-hydroxybupropion, or a phannaceutically acceptable salt thereof, comprising: (a) contacting hydroxybupropion with optically pure camphoric acid, tartaric acid, malic acid or mandelic acid; or an optically pure derivative thereof: (b) isolating an optically enriched salt of (S,S)-hydroxybupropion; and (c) contacting the salt of (S,S)-hydroxybupropion with a base. |
