| Abstract | A solar energy absorber tube assembly (20,31,39) for receiving concentrated solar energy from a solar energy concentrator, said absorber tube assembly(20,31,39) comprising an outer tubular member(10,21,40)and a first inner member(22,43)located coaxially within said outer tubular member(10,21,40)and defining therewith an annular space(23), said outer tubular member(10,21,40) having an outer surface(11) arranged to be exposed to said concentrated solar energy, said surface(11)being provided with a plurality of grooves(12,41) said grooves(12,41) being of V-shaped configuration in cross section, and a helically extending barrier(24,48) within said annular space(23)and defining a helical flow passage(25,49)extending along said absorber tube assembly(20,31,39) for the passage of water and/or steam through said absorber tube assembly(20,31,39). |
