The invention relates to a mobile information and data accessor for accessing information and data at any time from different locations.
Though news, stock information, entertainment such as music and general information system are organised, they are available only through very restricted media. For example music is available on casettes or compact discs. Hews, other entertainment available through TV and radio are time bound depending upon the time of broadcast. Use of music system in car provides limited choice of compact discs or tapes, The general information system requires constant updating and hence they are not adaptable to dynamically varying conditions in systems used at present.
The invention provides a mobile information and data accessor for accessing information and data at any time from different locations which is user friendly and removes the constraints stated above. It is possible to access information such as news, airline reservation, sports, weather, stocks, currency, traffic etc OH LIME at the user's finger tips with the flexibility of capsuling them according to user's liking. The data accessor according to the invention is capable of providing information and entertainment in accordance with the user's time schedule. Further it can choose the patterns of music to be played from various compact discs and if desired down load them
to the user's hard disk from a library of data. The system used is flexible to change the data and reformating the data and therefore the general information received will be an updated information with the user's priority.
The invention provides a mobile information and data accessor for accessing information and data at any time, comprising a central system and a user system; the said central system comprising plurality of sources of analogue information connected to a digital data collector in a server through an analogue to digital converter; an internet data accessor being provided in the server with a user identifier for identifying and permitting a user; the output from the data collector being connected to a data organizer and a data stacker provided in the server; the stacked data from the server being connected to an encoder followed by a bit stream generator, a multiplexor and a data compressor; the compressed data from the data compressor being connected through a modulator to a digital transmitter and the user system comprising plurality of digital receivers for receiving the signals from the transmitter, the output of each of the receiver being connected to a local memory through a decoder and decompressor, a user function selector connected to the output of the local memory for accessing selected information or programme from the local memory and an output medium selector connected to the user function selector to selectively connect the output to the required medium.
The invention is described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawing, in which the only figure shows schematic diagram of the mobile information and data accessor according to the invention. The mobile information and data accessor comprises mainly a central system (CS) which transmit the required information and a user system (US) which receives the information and data at the request of the user. The central system comprises an information system (IS) with an analogue/digital news production studio (6). The output from the A/D converter (7) and that from library of compact discs (3) are provided to a server (SE). The server (SE) comprises a library of data (2), a digital data collector (8), a data organizer (9) and a data stacker (10). A user identifier (1) is also provided with the server (SE) which identifies the pass-word of a user receiver and allow access to the information transmitted by the central system (CS). The data in the digital collector (8) is organized by the data organizer (9) in accordance with a prescribed programme and then stacked by the data stacker (10) in a prescribed manner. The stacked data from the server (SE) is provided to a bit-stream generator (12) through an encoder (11).
The bit-stream of data generated by the bit-stream generator (12) is multiplexed by a multiplexer (13) and compressed by a data compressor (14). The compressed data from data compressor (14) is fed to a modulator (15) for modulating the transmitted signal by a digital transmitter (18) provided with a transmitting antenna (17). The user system (US) comprises a digital receiver (19) with an antenna (18) for receiving the signal transmitted by the digital transmitter (18). The signals received are decoded by a decoder (20), decompressed by a decompressor (21) and stored in a local memory (22). A user function selector (23) selects the required information such as news, weather data, music and general information through an output medium selector (24) to respective output media such as digital output media (27) and analogue output media (26) . The analogue output media (26) receives the information from output medium selector (24) through a digital/analogue (D/A) converter (25), Each user receiver will have a unique identity for identification by the central system (CS).
The system according to the invention is quite versatile. It can be used with increased convenience of listening to music, news and other favourite items at the users choice. Anytime the user can listen to news or any of his favourite programe. It can be effectively used with a global information system. The system also provides the user with his own data bank which is updated continuously.
The system can be used by the user at home or while travelling. Without actually possessing any compact disc he can avail a host of compact discs maintained or accessed by the central system (CS).
I CLAIM :
1. A mobile information and data accessor for accessing information and data at any time, comprising a central system (CS> and a user system (US); the said central system comprising plurality of sources of analogue information (IS) connected to a digital data collector (8) in a server (SE) through an analogue to digital (A/D) converter (7); an internet data accessor (2) being provided in a server (SE) with a user identifier (1) for identifying and permitting a user; the output from the data collector (8) being connected to a data organizer (9) and a data stacker (10) provided in theserver (SE); the stacked data from the server (SE) being connected to an encoder (11) followed by a bit stream generator (12), a multiplexor (13) and a data compressor (14); the compressed data from the data compressor (14) being connected through a modulator (15) to a digital transmitter (18) and the user system (US) comprising plurality of digital receivers (19) for receiving the signals from the transmitter (18), the output of each of the receiver (19) being connected to a local memory (22) through a decoder (20) and decompressor (21), a user function selector (23) connected to the output of the local memory (22) for accessing seleeted information or programme from the local memory (22) and an output medium selector (24) connected to the user function selector (23) to selectively connect the output to the required medium (26, 27).
2. The system as claimed in claims 1, wherein the plurality
sources of information (IS) comprises a news production studio
(6), an advertisement studio (5), a library of audio tapes (4)
and a library of compact discs (3).
3. The system as claimed in claims 1 or 2, wherein the
transmitter (18) is provided with an antenna (17) and each of the
receivers (19) are provided with a matching antenna (18) for
receiving the transmitter signals.
4. A mobile information and data accessor for accessing
information and data at any time, substantially as hereinabove
described and illustrated with reference to the accompanying
drawing.
