| Abstract |
The present invention of Star-Delta Logic Contactor (S.D. Logic Contactor) has the advantage of existing Star-Delta Starters, which uses 3 contactors viz., Star Delta and Main by reducing a contactor and works'-'as conventional Star-Delta starter with an usual time delay relay. It has also an additional set of moving contact assembly with normally closed main contacts infront of the existing normally opened main contact assembly. A braking mechanism is incorporated by mechanical or magnetic means at the axis of the intersection of moving contact assembly i.e. in between the normally closed and normally opened main contacts, which makes a momentary interruption in the order of few milliseconds during swi~ch over. The present invention also provides Arc quenching arrangements of main moving contacts apart from contact pressure springs, moving core assembly pressure springs etc. Thus the present invention of star-delta logic contactor (S.D. Logic contactor) cost less 40% less than the conventional star-delta starters and will have better performance with rugged service flexibility in service and lesser maintenance. |
