| Abstract | A procedure is introduced for initiating a separation process of a sliver (FB') at the outlet of a spinning preparatory machine, especially at the outlet of a drawing frame or card, with a drawing frame(4) having several roller pairs (5a,5b,6a,6b,7a,7b,9), in which the sliver (FB') is drawn and then transported by means of a calendar roller pair (13,14) to a sliver storage equipment (16,17) and by means of which it is stored in a can (18). The producre as per the invention characterizes itself through the fact that the sliver(FB') is clamped by a downstream roller pair(7a,7b,7a,9,13,19) and transported, whereas at minimum one upstream roller pair (6a,6b,7a,7b,7a,9) the clamping of the sliver (FB') is lifted, wherein a thin portion (DS1; DS2)or a break (BB) in the sliver (FB') is generated between both these roller pairs (6a, 6b, 7a, 7b, 7a, 9, 7a, 9,13,14). Similarly a suitable spinning preparatory machine is recommended. |
