| Abstract | The present invention relates to a process for preactivating catalysts for the polymerization of C2 -C2o-olefins, in which the catalyst is first mixed with the respective monomer, the resulting mixture is subsequently subjected to preactivation in a tube reactor and the catalyst which has been preactivated in this way is [mally introduced into the actual polymerization reactor, wherein the mixture of catalyst and mono.mer is passed through the tube reactor in turbulent plug flow at a Reynolds number of at least 2300, wherein the Reynolds number (Re) is defined as Re = 2R.V.S n wherein R is the radius of the tube through which the flow occurs; v is the mean flow velocity; S is the density of the liquid to be measured and n is the dynamic viscosity of the liquid to be measured. |
