A FURNACE FOR PREPARING LOW MELTING METAL GRANULES

Abstract This invention elates to a furnace for preparing low melting metals granules. This invention more particularly relates to a furnace for converting tin and indium ingots into granules. The mechanism to make the flow of molten metal drip through the furnace drop by drop is achived by keeping the base plate inclined; making an orifice in the base plate at its lowest position, the shapeof the orifice to act as a socket, designing a control rod with a hemispherical/ball shape end to fit snugly in the socket; placing the control rod in the socket with other end protruing out of the furnace at the top; fitting a nut/bolt system to its protruding end to adjust gap between the ball and socket to faciliate dripping of the metal through the orifice at a given rate; adjusting the size of the orifice and ball to get the granules of the desired size.
