Full Text | FIELD OF INVENTION This invention relates to a packaging carton for storage and dispensing of liquidus and particulate materials. PRIOR ART Cartons for packaging and storage of liquidous material normally comprise a outer sleeve of paper board and an inner tube disposed within said outher sleeve. The inner tube is normally adhered to the inner surface of the outer sleeve. The inner Sleeve may be made of different material ofr different laminated material depending on the liquidous material required to be stored within said carton. Thous, one such construction of an inner sleeve has been suggested but still bnot disclosed in the art comprises a laminated structure. However, irrespective as to whterial or comprises a laminated structure, a disadvantage associated with such the known construction of a carton is that of the discharge of the material stored within the carton. In order to affect a discharge, it is necessary to open the flaps at one end of the carton. In orderto abviate such a disadvantage, a closeable spout has been suggested in one of our earlier patent application. Such a closeable spout is conveniently provided with a sidewall of the carton. carton is that of the discharge of the material stored within the carton. In order to effect a discharge, it is necessary to open the flaps at one end of the carton. In order to obviate such a disadvantage, a closeable spout has been suggested in one of our earlier patent applications. Such a closeable spout is conveniently provided with a sidewall of the carton. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION An object of this invention is to propose a carton for storage and dispensing of liquidous and particulate material having improved discharge means. Another object of this invention is to propose a carton for storage and dispending of liquidous and particulate material and wherein the discharge means can be provided with any of the walls of the carton. Yet another abject of this invention is to propose a carton for storage and dispending of liquidous and particulate material and wherein the discharge means does not increase the end cost of the carton. Still another object of this invention is to propose a carton for storage and dispending of liquidous and particulate material which is efficient. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION According to this invention there is provided a packaging carton (1) for storage and dispensing of liquidous and particulate products comprising an outer sleeve (2) of paper board (3), an inner tube (5) disposed within said outer sleeve (2), a hole (12) in said outer sleeve (2) and in correspondence with a hole (13) in the inner tube (5), has a coating compatible to the inner film of the laminate, a diaphragm (14) on the inner surface of said inner tube (5), characterized in that the said diaphragm having a tab (15) extending outwardly of said holes (12, 13). In accordance with this invention the carton comprises an opening provided in one or the walls to facilitate a discharge of the liquidous or particulate product. A distinct advantage residing in the carton of the present invention is that it may be conveniently provided in any of the walls of the carton. DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS Further objects and advantages of this invention will be more apparent from the ensuing description when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and wherein: Fig.l shows the storage carton of the present invention Fig.2 shows a sectional view of the various layers constituting the carton.Referring to the drawings, the carton 1 of the present invention comprises an outer sleeve 2 made of paper board 3 and having a lamination 4 on the exterior surface thereof. As described hereinabove, paper board 3 has a thickness of 300- 2 500 gms/m . Lamination 4 is made of polyester, biaxially oriented polypropylene or made of polyester, biaxially oriented polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride and has a thickness of 10 to 25 •gms/m . Inner tube 5 is provided within outer sleeve 2. Inner tube 5 may be adhered to or removably disposed within outer sleeve 2. Reference is made of Fig. 2 which illustrates the structure of inner tube 5 to comprise a layer or of polyester film 6 adhered a coextruded member through a tie layer 8. Tie layer comprises any known adhesive. The coextruded member 7 comprises a first outer layer 9 of low density polyethylene layer, an intermediate layer 10 high density polyethylene and a contact layer 11 of linear low density polyetylene. Reference is made in particular to the discharge means. In accordance with this invention, the discharge means comprise an opening 12 provided on outer sleeve 2. Opening 12 is preformed and may be provided on the sidewall front or back wall of the carton. An opening 13 is provided on the inner sleeve and which is coincident with opening 12. The discharge means further comprise a diaphragm 14 provided on the inner surface of the inner sleeve, which closes opening 13. Diaphragm 14 has a tab 15 extending outwardly of openings 12 and 13. In order to effect a discharge, tab 15 is pulled to tear diaphragm 14 and facilitate a discharge. Preferably, but without implying any limitation, diaphragm may be made of aluminium foil and has a thickness of 12 to 75 microns. Preferably, the aluminium foil has a thicknesses of 25-50 microns. The aluminium foil has a coating of low density polyethylene which is compatible with the inner layer 11 of linear low density polyethylene. The outer surface of said board is laminated with a layer of biaxially oriented polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride or low density polyethylene. The lamination have a thickness of 2 10 to 25 gms/m . The lamination can have a 2 thickness of more than 25 gms/m but no advantages are derieved therefrom and only contributes to the end cost of the carton. Such a lamination protects the exterior surface of said outer sleeve. The lamination does not assist in increasing to the strength properties of the storage carton. The paper board has a thickness of 3OO to 2 5OO gms/m . The inner tube comprises a laminated structure and, wherein, the polyester film is aobered to a coextruded member through a tie layer, Preferably, the. polyester layer has a thickness of 5 to 15 microns. The coextruded comprises an outer layer of low density polyethylene with a thickness of 15 to 40 microns. The coextruded layer further comprises a contact layer of low linear density polyethylene of 40 to 60 microns, and an intermediate of layer of high density polyethylene with a thickness of 15 to 40 microns, and with an overall thickness of 100 to 15O microns. Reference is made to numerical values only by way of example. WE CLAIM; 1. A packaging carton (1) for storage and dispensing of liquidous and particulate products comprising an outer sleeve (2) of paper board (3), an inner tube (5) disposed within said outer sleeve (2), a hole (12) in said outer sleeve (2) and in correspondence with a hole (13) in the inner tube (5), has a coating compatible to the inner film of the laminate, a diaphragm (14) on the inner surface of said inner tube (5), characterized in that the said diaphragm having a tab (15) extending outwardly of said holes (12, 13). 2. A packaging carton as claimed in claim 1 wherein the diaphragm (14) is of aluminum foil. 3. A packaging carton as claimed in claim 2 wherein the diaphragm (14) has a thickness of 12 to 75 microns. 4. A packaging carton as claimed in claim 3 wherein the diaphragm (14) has a thickness of preferably 20 to 50 microns. 5. A packaging carton substantially as herein described and illustrated. |
