| Abstract | The present invention relates to a chimeric recomb: parainfluenza virus type 3 (PIV3) comprising a PIV3 antigenome or genome which has been modified to comprise a heterologous nucleotide sequence encoding a metapneumovirus polypeptide, (1) wherein the mammalian metapneumovirus polypeptide is (i) at least 50 amino acids in length, and (ii) is specific to a mammalian metapneumovirus (MPV) with the proviso that said mammalian metapneumovirus is not human MPV isolate 00-1; and (2) wherein (i) the heterologous nucleotide sequence is inserted in the bPIV3 antigenome or genome; or (ii) the heterologous sequence is substituted for a sequence of the PIV3 antigenome or genome and wherein the PIV3 is a bovine PIV3, human PIV3 or chimeric bovine/human PIV3. |
