| Abstract | A method of making a novel medium, alternate to wood, in the manufacturing ornamental furniture comprising the steps of joining primer coated PVC film(l) with thin .wooden boards(2); the PVC film is laid in a negative die and transformed into a positive mould by thermo vacuum formation between 120-180 ; rigid foam(3) is poured upon the aforesaid moulded PVC film; the rigid foam expands due to exothermic reaction; a wood based board/ medium density fibre board is placed upon the above said rigid foam and pressed with cylinders at a pressure of 10Kg/cm. |
