Title of Invention | CONDENSER OIL SEPARATOR WITH IMPROVED COOLING AND PNEUMATIC PURGING FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM |
---|---|
Abstract | CONDENSER OIL SEPARATOR FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE BRAKING SYSTEM This invention is relates to condenser oil separator. Such a condenser oil separator incorporates a means for heat extraction. This consists of internal pins incorporated within the condenser head apart from external fins. Further the condenser body has internal radial fins and external fins. Moreover a baffle provided inside the body having a spiral profile facilitates separation of fluid particles like oil and water. The air flow path is such that it is distributed over a vast area in a compact length before enters into the cyclonic chamber, which provides improved cooling and condensation. The optimized spring load and effective area on seal provides capability to withstand higher fluctuations in compressed air and also to operate with a low-pressure differential. |
Full Text | We claim: 1. Condenser Oil Separator with improved cooling and pneumatic purging for a motor vehicle air braking system, comprising a head with external fins and internal pins for heat extraction, a body with an integral heat exchanger comprising of internal and external fins for heat extraction and the air flow path is rendered to take longer path from inlet to delivery for efficient heat extraction from compressed air, the purge mechanism characterised by the pneumatically operated seal and spring positioned between spring seat at one end and seal housing at the other end and the spring load is optimised such that it seals effectively in the drain valve body against pulsating pressure in the compressor delivery line during charging cycle and also operates in low pressure differential to purge the collected condensate during unloading cycle. 2. Condenser Oil Separator with improved cooling and pneumatic purging for a motor vehicle air braking system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the spring load is optimised such that the sealing force is maintained between 1 to 1.5 times of the contact surface which seals effectively in the drain valve body against pulsating pressure in the compressor delivery line during charging cycle. 3. Condenser Oil Separator with improved cooling and pneumatic purging for a motor vehicle air braking system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the spring load is optimised to purge the condensate efficiently with low pressure differential of less than 1 bar during unloading cycle. 4. Condenser Oil Separator with improved cooling and pneumatic purging for a motor vehicle air braking system as claimed in claim 1, as described in the complete spceification and as illnstrated by way of drawings, |
