Title of Invention | A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF HERBAL EXTRACT FROM THE FERN CHEILANTHES FARINOSE EFFECTIVE AGANIST LIVER DISEASES |
---|---|
Abstract | A process for the preparation of herbal extract from the fern cheilanthes farinose effective against liver diseases comprising collecting the whole plant of the said fern; cleaning the whole plant; cutting the plants into small pieces and drying the same at 28-38°C; subjecting the dried material to the step of powdering characterized by; mixing the powdered material with solvent, stirring the mixture and filtrating the same to obtain the filtrate (filtrate 1) and residue; subjecting the said residue to the step of extraction again in fresh solvent; collecting the filtrate (filtrate 2) and evaporating the same along with filtrate 1 at 35-45°C under pressure lower then atmospheric pressure to dryness to obtain the dry powder. |
Full Text | easily available and inexpensive. The efficacy of this plant against toxic chemical-induced liver damage is not known previously. Hepato-protective extracts (present invention) from this plant is totally new. The hepato-protective extracts show better efficacy than silymarin, a standard herbal drug for liver diseases used all over the world. It is likely that the present herbal preparation can be superior herbal drug to liver diseases. OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION; An object of this invention is to prepare a herbal extract from the fern, cheilanthes farinose. Another object of this invention is to propose a process for the preparation of herbal extract which is effective in curing liver disorders. A further object of this invention is to propose a simple and cost effective process for the preparation of herbal extract from the fern. A still further object of this invention is to propose a process for the preparation of herbal extract from a commonly available herb. STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION; According to this invention there is provided a process for the preparation of herbal extract from the fern cheilanthes farinose comprising:- - collecting the whole plants of the said fern; - cleaning the whole plant; - cutting the platns into small pieces and drying the same at 28-38°C; - subjecting the dried material to the step of powdering; - mixing the powdered material with solvent, - stirring the mixture and filtrating the same to obtain the filtrate (filtrate 1) and residue; - subjecting the said residue to the step of extraction again in fresh solvent; - collecting the filtrate (filtrate 2) and evaporating the same along with filtrate 1 at 35-45°C under pressure lower then atmospheric pressure to dryness to obtain the dry powder. WE CIAIM; 1. A process for the preparation of herbal extract from the fern cheilanthes farinose effective against liver diseases comprising:- - collecting the whole plant of the said fern; - cleaning the whole plant; - cutting the plants into small pieces and drying the same at 28-38°C; - subjecting the dried material to the step of powdering characterized by; - mixing the powdered material with solvent, - stirring the mixture and filtrating the same to obtain the filtrate (filtrate 1) and residue; - subjecting the said residue to the step of extraction again in fresh solvent; - collecting the filtrate (filtrate 2) and evaporating the same along with filtrate 1 at 35-45°C under pressure lower then atmospheric pressure to dryness to obtain the dry powder. 2. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said solvent are selected from, ethanol, water 8B n-hexane. 3. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein powdering is done in a mixer. 4. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the said step of stirring was preferred for 8 hours. 5. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the step of drying is done in a lyophilizer. |
