Full Text | -FIELD OF INVENTION This invention relates to a herbal composition effective against Arthritis and to process for the preparation thereof. BACKGROUND OF INVENTION Waja-ul-Mafasil (Rheumatoid Arthritis) is a constitutional disease characterized by polyarthritis specially of smaller joint with tendency for symmetric distribution after the disease is established. It is caused by chronic proliferative inflammation of synovial membranes with potentiality of producing irreversible damage to the joint capsule and articular cartilage due to replacement of granular tissue. These pathological changes in the joint capsule are caused due to humoural derangement occurring due to imbalance diet and its metabolism resulting in excessive production of CHEMOOS. OBJECTS OF INVENTION An object of the present invention is to propose a novel therapeutic composition capable of offering an effective treatment for Arthritis and to a Process for the preparation thereof prepared entirely from herbal and mineral commonly available drugs. Still another object of the present invention is to propose a novel therapeutic composition capable of offering an effective treatment for Arthritis and to a process for the preparation thereof which has no toxicity or untoward effect after prolonged administration in children and also in pregnant women. STATEMENT OF INVENTION According to this invention there is provided a herbal composition effective against Arthritis comprising of Azaraqi mudabbar (Stryhnos nux-vomica Linn.) in an amount of 60-70 mg and Zanjabeel (Zingiber officinal Rose.) in an amount of 60-70 mg. Further according to this invention there is provided a process for preparation of a herbal composition effective against Arthritis comprising steps of:- - detoxification of Azaraqi seeds followed by powdering, - pulverization of dry zanjabeel, and - mixing of the above in a mass mixer added with preservative such as sodium benzoate in concentration of 0.1-0.15% and moistened with purified water followed by drying at 55-75°C for 3-4 hrs. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION According to this invention there is provided a therapeutic composition for the treatment of arthritis comprising: • Azaraqi mudabbar (Stryhnos nux-vomica Linn.) • Zanjabeel (Zingiber officinal Rose). Preferable, in accordance with this invention, the composition comprises: • Azaraqi mudabbar (Stryhnos nux-vomica Linn.) 60.00 mg-70.00 mg. • Zanjabeel (Zingiber officinal Rose.) 60.00 mg -70.00 mg. To every 125 mg. of the preparation. The process for preparation of the composition comprises in: 1. Azaraqi seeds in approximately double the quantity of composition of formulation are taken and detoxified. 70 grams of Azaraqi is buried in yellow clay and water is poured over it everyday till tenth day. The Azaraqi is then removed and washed. The outer covering (tests) is pealed off with knife and the cotyledons of Azaraqi are separated after removing the embryo part (pitta). Only the healthy Azaraqi is selected for use. It is then washed with hot water and tied in a clean cloth bag. The bag is immersed in a vessel containing two litres of milk. The milk is then boiled till it evaporates and care is taken that the bag does not touch the bottom of the vessel. Thereafter, Azaraqi is removed from the bag and washed with water to obtain Azaraqi Mudabbar. Detoxified seeds are finally powdered (A). 2. Dried Zanjabeel are also taken in more than the quantity required for the formulation and finally pulverized so that the ultimate fine powder obtained may be in the quantity required for the formulation (B). 3. A and B as per composition of formulation are thoroughly mixed in a mass mixer, preservative are added moistened with purified water wherein preservative used is for example Sod. Benzoate in concentration range of 0.1 to 0.15%. After thorough mixing again the whole mass is dried at 55-75°C for 3-5 hrs. 4. The dried mass is passed through granulator and the granules so obtained are filled in hard gelatin empty capsules to get the capsules. It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:- WE CLAIM: 1. A herbal composition effective against Arthritis comprising of Azaraqi mudabbar (Stryhnos nux-vomica Linn.) in an amount of 60-70 mg and Zanjabeel (Zingiber officinal Rose.) in an amount of 60-70 mg. 2. A process for preparation of a herbal composition effective against Arthritis as claimed in claim 1 comprising steps of:- - detoxification of Azaraqi seeds followed by powdering, - pulverization of dry zanjabeel, and - mixing of the above in a mass mixer added with preservative such as sodium benzoate in concentration of 0.1-0.15% and moistened with purified water followed by drying at 55-75°C for 3-4 hrs. |
