Abstract | The mounting bracket assembly of a long member for vehicles, in accordance with the present invention, comprises; first flange member (A) with central portion having first leg portion and second leg portion, second flange member (B) with central portion having opposed leg portion and leg portion, flat member (C) having left edge portion and right edge portion and support member (D) having top edge and bottom edge. Said first flange member (A), second flange member (B) and flat member (C) comprises plurality of aperture or openings provided therein for mounting of said bracket to the long members and cross member of vehicles. For making the present bracket first leg portion (1) of said first flange member (A) is welded longitudinally at the front surface of the said flat member (C), and left edge portion of said flat member (C) is welded to the top surface of the first leg portion of the said first flange member (A). now edge of leg portion of second flange member (B) and front surface of said flat member (C) are welded together after aligning respective aperture or openings of said members, and bend line of the said second flange member (B) is welded with the front surface of the said flat member. Further said support member (D) comprising first and second width placed between aligned apertures or openings of first leg portion (1) of said first flange member (A) and said flat member (C), and then both side of said support member (D) is welded to the front surface of the said flat member (C). |
Full Text | FORM 2 THE PATENTS ACT 1970 (39 of 1970) & THE PATENTS RULES, 2003 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION (See Section 10; rule 13) TITLE OF THE INVENTION Improved Bracket Assembly For Vehicles And Method Of Mounting Thereof APPLICANTS TATA MOTORS LIMITED, an Indian company Having its registered office at Bombay House, 24 Homi Mody Street, Hutatma Chowk, Mumbai 400 001 Maharashtra, India INVENTORS Pradip Kumar Dey and Pranab Sau Mandal K Both Indian Nationals of TATA MOTORS LIMITED, An Indian company having its registered office at Bombay House, 24 Homi Mody Street, Hutatma Chowk, Mumbai 400 001 Maharashtra, India PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed. FIELD OF INVENTION The present invention is related to the bracket system of vehicles and more particularly it relates to improved bracket assembly for vehicles and method of mounting thereof. BACKGROUND OF INVENTION Generally conventional brackets are used in most of the HCV vehicles. Which are usually made up of a single-plate bracket, in some cases, with a reinforcements-like stiffener provided at the location of the holes to avoid the effect of excessive stresses at the holes are used. These brackets (RH and LH components) are mounted onto the long member directly. Then, the cross member assembly is mounted onto these brackets .These RH and LH brackets, along with the cross-member, are used for the front mounting of the engine of a vehicle. For rear mounting engine, conventional mounting brackets are not suitable, thus new brackets is developed. OBJECTS OF INVENTION The main object of the present invention is to provide improved bracket assembly for vehicles. Another object of the present invention is to provide method of mounting improved bracket assembly for vehicles. STATEMENT OF INVENTION Improved bracket assembly comprises; 2 First flange member with central portion having first leg portion and second leg portion, comprises bend lines, from where first leg portion and second leg portion are extending at preferably perpendicular to surface of said central portion in opposite direction. Second flange member with central portion having opposed leg portions, said leg portion comprises bend lines, from where said opposed leg portion and second leg portion are extending at preferably perpendicular to surface of said central portion in same direction. Flat member with left edge portion and right edge portion comprises at least four holes for mounting it to the long member, Support member configured to be disposed longitudinally at the centre line of said flat member. Improved bracket assembly in accordance with this invention, wherein said fist leg portion of first flange member comprises at least two apertures or openings for mounting to the long member and second leg portion of first flange member comprises at least three apertures or openings for mounting the cross member. Improved bracket assembly in accordance with this invention, wherein said opposed leg portion of second flange member comprises at least three aperture or openings for mounting it to cross member and said leg portion of second flange member comprises at least two apertures or openings for mounting it to the long member. Improved bracket assembly in accordance with this invention, wherein said flat member comprises at least four apertures or openings for mounting it to the long member. 3 Improved bracket assembly in accordance with this invention, wherein said support member comprises first and second width adapted to be connected to the said flat member and first leg portion of first flange member. Improved bracket assembly in accordance with this invention, wherein said aperture (10a, 10b) of said first leg portion of first flange member and said apertures (10c,10d) of flat member are aligned to attach the said portions of said members by welding means. Improved bracket assembly in accordance with this invention, wherein said aperture (20a, 20b) of said leg portion (6) of second flange member and said apertures (20c, 20d) of flat member are aligned to attach the said portions of said members by welding means. Method of mounting improved bracket assembly comprises; Providing the bracket assembly, Attaching said bracket assembly to the long member, Tightening said bracket assembly with nut and bolts to mount onto the long member, Selecting the cross member, Aligning the said cross member with the bracket assembly, Tightening the said cross member to the said bracket assembly by nuts and bolts to firmly hold the said cross member. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION The improved bracket assembly for vehicles, in accordance with the present invention, comprises; first flange member (A) with central portion (3) having first leg portion (1) and second leg portion (2), second flange member (B) with central 4 portion (7) having opposed leg portion (5) and leg portion (6), flat member(C) having left edge portion and right edge portion and support member (D) having top edge and bottom edge. Each of said members comprises plurality of holes provided therein for mounting of said bracket to the long members and cross member of vehicles. For making the present bracket, first leg portion (1) of said first flange member(A) is welded longitudinally at the middle of front surface of the said flat member(C), and left edge portion of said flat member(C) is welded to the top surface of the said first leg portion(l) of the said first flange member (A). Now top surface of leg portion (6) of second flange member (B) and flat member (C) are welded together after aligning respective apertures (20a,20b,20c,20d) of said members, and leg portion(6) of the said second flange member is welded with the front surface of the said flat member (C). Further said support member (D) placed between aligned long member mounting holes of said first flange member and flat member, and then both side of said support member is welded to the front surface of the said flat member and leg portion (1) of said first flange member. Figure - 6 shows the front and top views of the support member of new bracket assembly. Figure - 7 shows the front view of the new bracket assembly. Figure - 8 shows the top view of the new bracket assembly. Figure - 9 shows the side view of the new bracket assembly. Figure -10 shows the isometric view of the new bracket assembly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION Referring now to the drawings wherein the showings are for the purpose of illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention only, and not for the purpose of limiting the same, Now referring to figures 3 to 6 and 8, 10, improved bracket assembly, in accordance with the present invention comprises; First flange member (A) with central portion (3) having opposed first and second leg portions (1,2) on opposite side of central portion extending there from the bend line (4a,4b) at preferably perpendicular to surface of said central portion(3) comprises at least three through apertures or openings(11a,11b,11c) on leg portion(2) for mounting the cross member and at least two mounting apertures or openings (10a, 10b) on leg portion (1) for mounting the said bracket to the long member, the said leg portion (1) is attached with the front surface of the said flat member(C), Second flange member (B) with central portion (7) comprising opposed leg portions (5, 6) extending there from the bend lines (8a, 8b) at preferably perpendicular to the surface of the said central portion (7), wherein the said opposed leg portion (6) comprises at least two aperture (20a, 20b) for mounting it 6 to the long member and said opposed leg portion (5) comprises at least three through apertures or openings (22a, 22b, 22c) for mounting the cross member, leg portion(6) is connected to the front surface of said flat member(C), Flat member (C) which is rectangular in shape comprising left and right edge portion includes at least four through apertures or openings (10c, l0d, 20c, 20d) for mounting it to the long member, wherein vertically placed flat member defines rear surface and front surface of said flat member where in said rear surface is placed on the long member and front surface is attached to the leg portion (1) of the said firs flange member (A), Support member (D) comprising first and second width disposed centrally along longitudinal axis of said flat member preferably perpendicular to the surface of said flat member and leg portion (1) of said first flange member (A) and connected or attached by means of welding it to the said surfaces. Now referring to the figure 7, in accordance with the present invention, for making the said bracket the flat member(C) is placed vertically and leg portion (1) of said first flange member (A) is placed in such a manner that surface of both said members are in contact with each other with the said through apertures (10a, 10b and 10c, l0d) therein are properly aligned together. Now with this aligned arrangement, the left edge portion of said flat member(C) is attached with the surface of the leg portion (1) of said first flange member (A) preferably by welding them together along lateral axis of both said members and similarly said leg portion of said first flange member is attached with front surface of the said flat member preferably by welding them together along lateral axis of both said members. 7 Further said leg portion (6) of second flange member (B) comprising at least two through apertures (20c, 20d) for mounting it to the long member and surface of leg portion (6) of said second flange member are place in such a manner that front surface of said flat member and surface of leg portion (6) are in contact with each other and through apertures (20a, 20b and 20c, 20d) therein are aligned together. And both members are attached together preferably by welding at their extreme edges. Now referring to figure 8, For attaching said support member (D) to the said assembly, said support member is placed at between two mounting aperture (10a, 10b) provided in said flat member preferably perpendicular to the surface of said flat member along the longitudinal axis of said flat member and the edge of said support member which are in contact with the surface of said flat member and leg portion of first flange member are attached together preferably by welding. Said bracket assembly is mounted on the long member with the help of nuts and bolts then the cross member is mounted to the said bracket assembly which is mounted in the long member. Now method of mounting improved bracket assembly comprises; Providing the bracket assembly, Attaching said bracket assembly to the long member. Tightening said bracket assembly with nut and bolts to mount onto the long member, Selecting the cross member, Aligning the said cross member with the bracket assembly, Tightening the said cross member to the said bracket assembly by nuts and bolts to firmly hold the said cross member, 8 The foregoing description is a specific embodiment of the present invention. It should be appreciated that this embodiment is described for purpose of illustration only, and that numerous alterations and modifications may be practiced by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is intended that all such modifications and alterations be included in so far as they come within the scope of the invention as claimed or the equivalents thereof. 9 WE CLAIM 1. Improved bracket assembly comprises ; First flange member with central portion(3) having first leg portion(l) and second leg portion(2), comprises bend lines(4a, 4b) , from where first leg portion (1) and second leg portion (2) are extending at preferably perpendicular to surface of said central portion(3) in opposite direction. Second flange member with central portion (7) having opposed leg portions (5, 6), said leg portion (5) comprises bend lines (8a, 8b), from where said opposed leg portion (5) and second leg portion (6)) are extending at preferably perpendicular to surface of said central portion (7) in same direction. Flat member with left edge portion and right edge portion comprises at least four holes (10c, lOd, 20c, and 20d) for mounting it to the long member, Support member configured to be disposed longitudinally at the centre line of said flat member. 2. Improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said fist leg portion (1) of first flange member comprises at least two apertures or openings (10a, 10b) for mounting to the long member and second leg portion(2) of first flange member comprises at least three apertures or openings(l la, 1 lb, 1 lc) for mounting the cross member. 3. Improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said opposed leg portion (5) of second flange member comprises at least three aperture or openings (22a, 22b, 22c) for mounting it to cross member and said leg 10 portion (6) of second flange member comprises at least two apertures or openings (20a, 20b) for mounting it to the long member. 4. Improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said flat member comprises at least four apertures or openings for mounting it to the long member. 5. Improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said support member comprises first and second width adapted to be connected to the said flat member and first leg portion of first flange member. 6. Improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said aperture (10a, 10b) of said first leg portion of first flange member and said apertures (10c,10d) of flat member are aligned to attach the said portions of said members by welding means. 7. Improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim 1, wherein said aperture (20a, 20b) of said leg portion (6) of second flange member and said apertures (20c, 20d) of flat member are aligned to attach the said portions of said members by welding means. 8. Method of mounting improved bracket assembly comprises; Providing the bracket assembly, Attaching said bracket assembly to the long member, Tightening said bracket assembly with nut and bolts to mount onto the long member, Selecting the cross member, Aligning the said cross member with the said bracket assembly for mounting. 11 Tightening the said cross member to the said bracket assembly by nuts and bolts to firmly hold the said cross member. Vehicle comprising improved bracket assembly as claimed in claim any of the preceding claim 1 to 8. Improved bracket assembly and method of mounting improved cross member bracket assembly as herein described with reference to accompanying drawings.
