Title of Invention

LOCK FOR ROLLING SHUTTER

Abstract The locks for roller shutter comprises a box shaped body secured to the roller shutter and having projecting extension directed downwardly, in such a manner that when a shutter is lowered to its closure condition. The extended body portion is enclosed within a cavity of receptacle fastened (grouted) in the floor. A straight bolts are mounted slideable into the extended body portion, so as to be capable of engaging against the receptacle surface. A lever locking mechanism, also housed in the body, ensures the locking of slideable bolts in the closure and open position.

3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION
The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed : -

LOCK FOR ROLLING SHUTTER
PRIOR ART (BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION :
The present invention is related to locks and particularly locks adapted to be secured to the inside of roller shutter at the bottom channel. The said locks have the bolts either sliding or swing type which enter into the receptacle cavity grouted into the ground. The bolts are slided / swung by the key operation and engage with the receptacle wall thereby arresting the movement with respect to the receptacle. In the present locks, the bolts are accessible in the gap between shutter and receptacle grouted into the ground wherein these can be attacked / cut easily. These locks are often made for one way operation i.e. from outside.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION :
The invention relates to an improvement in the locks of the type referred to, in which the lock to be secured to the roller shutter presents a 'T' shaped body having an extension directed downwardly, in such a manner that, wherever shutter is lowered to close the door, the body projection enters into the cavity of receptacle grouted into the ground. A straight rectangular bolts are slideably mounted into the body in such a manner as to engage with receptacle wall upon manual actuation of locking means by key. The locking means is provided in order to lock the bolt in its closure condition. The construction of the lock body is such as to reduce in a remarkable manner the possibilities, by thieves, of getting hold of the bolts and attacking / cutting it off. Moreover, the components of the mechanism of the lock such as bolts, locking means for the bolt are protected from the external attacks and are further protected from external agents such as rain and dust.

of the lock of present invention.
FIG 5 : Shows the exploded view of the lock of present invention.
FIG 6 : Shows the perspective view of the lock body part of present
invention
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
Referring to Fig 1 to 6, the lock of the present invention comprises of a 'T' shaped body (2) made of steel having an extended projection for supporting a sliding bolt and four bores at the extremes of the main body for fastening it to the inner side of the roller shutter. The body (2) is fastened to the roller shutter by means of screws (22) in such a manner that the projection of the body is directed downwardly. The body is suitably shaped inorder to render more difficult, the attempt of getting access and cutting off the sliding bolt member (18). On the side faces (2a & 2b) of body there are provided cutting it off. Moreover, the components of the mechanism of the lock such as bolts, locking means for the bolt are protected from the external attacks and are further protected from external agents such as rain and dust.

WE CLAIM:
1. A roller shutter lock comprising a ‘T’ Shaped body and bolts slideable with the extension directed downwardly when mounted on the inner part of the roller shutter, wherein the two opposing bolts are horizontally disposed in the housing of the lower part of the T' shaped body slidable in the horizontal direction when actuated by key and inter connecting means for locking the roller shutter by engaging leading portion of both the bolts from respective body portion into the inner part of the receptable box which is grouted into the ground.
2. The lock as claimed in claim 1 wherein the bolts are dead bolts.
3. The lock as claimed in claim 2 wherein the said interconnecting means being operably connected to said bolts to cause said bolts to be actuated simultaneously to the locked or unlocked position.
4. The lock as claimed in claim 1 wherein the actuating means is key and lever mechanism.
5. The lock as claimed in claim 1, wherein said interconnecting means comprising bolt plates being operably connected to said actuating means to slide the said bolts oppositely disposed in said body portion.
6. The lock as claimed in claim 1, wherein said actuating means is rotated about 720° for full extension of the said bolts.
6

7. The lock as claimed in claim I, said receptacle box being formed
with rectangular cutout to receive said body extension portion and in turn receive the bolt leading edges in locked position.
8. The lock as claimed in claim I, wherein the said mounting means
are the through bores provided into body portion to receive the mounting screws.
