The following specification describes the invention.

This invention relates to space frame connector means.
In particular, this invention relates to space frame connector means for permitting the erection of a space frame having typically cylindrical pipes or rods with respect to each other at any suitable angle..
It may be necessary for a particular application to connect rods or pipes at different angles with respect to each other to form a space frame for erecting a structure.
The space frame connector device in accordance with this invention is shown herein particularly with reference to the accompanying drawings, which are clear to one skilled in the art.
The accompanying drawings which are self explanatory show in Figure 1 is one element 10 in accordance with this invention having as is seen a circle defined by a plurality of hemispherical cavities on the circumference and two spherical projections. Instead of formed projections the cavities may be throughout the circumference and steel or other balls may be filled in two or more of the cavities to form the arrangement. The element 10 also has an extension for holding a rod or pipe which can be rigidly secured in the arrangement. The formation shown is circular but in practice it can be square or hexagonal and therefore a pipe or rod of any shape and dimension can be secured in the element.
Figure 2 is another element 12 which is complementary to the element 10 as seen in figure 1;
*2—

Figure 3 shows a formation in which two elements 10 are connected to each other to form a coupling connector. As can be understood, the two elements can be secured to each other at any angle depending upon the position of the two matching circles as seen in figure 4 ;
Figure 5 shows a formation where elements 10 and 12 are secured to each other at any desired angular for the space frame formation. Figure 6 is the leg element or end element for holding one end of a pipe or a rod within the element.
While considerable emphasis has been placed herein on the specific structure of the preferred embodiment, it will be appreciated that many alterations can be made and that many modifications can be made in the preferred embodiment without departing from the principles of the invention. These and other changes in the preferred embodiment as well as other embodiments of the invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art from the disclosure herein, whereby it is to be distinctly understood that the foregoing descriptive matter is to be interpreted merely as illustrative of the invention and not as a limitation.
