Full Text | -2- FIELD OF APPLICATION The invention relates to fluidized bed gasification, using liquid / semi solid fuel which are either a residue fuel or by product fuel. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Fluidized bed gaisfiers are adopted to generate syn-gas from different grades of coal for use in power, process and chemical applications. In the present invention, liquid, semi-solid residue fuel or by product fuels are used for gasification purpose wherein the semi-solid residue fuel or by product fuels are converted to liquid stage and are gasified in fluidized bed. In this field of invention no prior patent literature is available. -3- DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The main objective of this present invention is to use liquid / semi-solid fuel to be gasified in a fluidized bed. Another objective of this invention is to use this fuel for gasification which are otherwise difficult to use in other combustion system or any other process. A further objective of this invention is to ensure environmental-friendly operation with low NOx, SOX and dust particulates. A still further objective of this invention is to use semi solid fuel in most effectively manner and minimize fuel wastage or to avoid disposal problem / under utilized / used in some other areas with environmental pollution. A yet another objective of this invention is to adopt a fluidized bed solid fuel gasification system for gasification of such liquid / semi solid fuels. -4- The system consisting of fuel tank with steam / electrical heating for heating the semi-soild fuel. The fuel phase changes to liquid stage. The fuel is then pumped to the pressurized fluidized bed gasifier. Liquid fuel (LDO) can also be used in this system of gasification. Suitable lance system is installed in the gasifier for injecting and gasifying the fuel in the gasifier. When the fuel is injected in to the hot fluidized bed it reacts with the air / oxygen to form syn-gas. Fuel control valves help to control the fuel for various loads. Suitable control valves are used for returning excess fuel to the fuel tank. The fuel lines and return lines are heated / traced with steam line or other means for keeping the fuel in the liquid stage and easy flow through pipes and burners. Air / steam purging provision is also made for cleaning the line and the lance. According to this invention there is provided a plant for gasification of liquid or semi-solid fuel in fluidized bed gasifier comprising: -5- a) a fuel tank containing a semi-solid fuel which is converted in liquid stage by heating through a steam coil, the said semi-solid fuel being fed to the fuel tank by a fuel pump; b) a fuel line connected to a gaisfier to inject the fuel oil by a lance; c) an atomizing means to atomize the liquid fuel injected into the gaisifer with pressurized supply of steam and air into the gasifier through the lance wherein the liquid / semi-solid fuel is gasified to generate industrial synthetic gas. The proposed invention will be better understood in the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings in which Figure 1 shows the semi-solid fuel gasification installation using pressurized fluidized bed gasifier. -6- The semi-solid fuel (01) is stored in a fuel tank (02). The fuel is heated and kept in liquid stage using the steam coil (03). The said fuel is pumped using a fuel pump (05) passed through filters (04) before entering into the tank (02). The fuel line (06) is run upto gasifier (12) where the fuel oil is injected in the lance (07) in the pressurized fluidized bed gasifier. Provision is made for atomizing (08) with steam / air of the liquid fuel. Purging provision (09) is made for cleaning fuel line and lance. The control valves (10) help in by passing the excess oil of the fuel line to the fuel tank. Steam / Electrical tracing lines (11) are provided at the side of fuel line helping the fuel for free flow and not allowing to solidify and block the fuel line. The steam line (11) is interconnected with fuel tank and gasifier (12) via steam Out and steam In through control valve (10) to utilize available heat of the circulating steam both for fuel tank (02) and gaisifer (12) and also for the fuel line. The illustrated gasification plant developed according to the present invention depicts substantially hundred percent utilization of the fuel for gas generation without any wastage of the fuel or very little extraction of fuel gas in the atmosphere. The system thus is self-generating to obtain industrial gaseous fuels with self-generating heating and regenerating means. -7- As an exemplanary embodiment of the proposed invention the amount of semi-solid / liquid fuel used in fuel tank is 50 Kilo liters and the gas produced is approximately 10, 000 to 15, 000 Cu.M/Hr. The average temperature ranges employed in the fuel tank and fluid line (mainly for keeping the fuel in liquid phase for free flow) is 175° C, steam line 200° C, and gasifier temperature 1000° C. Pressure range in the gasifier is 2 - 10 Kg / Sq. CM. However, the aforesaid parameters will have to be altered and maintained according to the capacity of the plant. For example for 125 MW rating, the pressure range will be 30 to 35 atmospheres. The invention as described and illustrated herein should not be construed in a restrictive manner as, various adaptations, modifications and changes are possible in the fuel line, fuel tank, gasifier and other controlling means of the plant within the scope and limit of the invention and as defined in the encampused appended claims. -8- WE CLAIM 1.
