Title of Invention | A REFRACTORY BASED PAINT TO COAT ON GALVANIZING POT-WARE |
---|---|
Abstract | The refractory based paint that is used to protect the surface of the hardware in the galvanizing pot, including the sink roll arms and the inner surface of the steel tank is comprising of a aqueous solution of refractory materials having following composition Graphite -18 -20% Silica Flour - 45 - 50% Silim anite - 15 - 17% Emc - 1.5 - 2% Balance - water The refractory based paint made of the above mentioned composition is applied as it is on clean metal surface with the help a paint brush; Once it is dried, a second Coat is applied and depending upon the severity of attack.A third coat can also be applied after proper drying out of the second coat.Using of three coats of this paint on the fresh surface, prior to the first usage has been found to prevent the arrack. This is not only led to longer life of the pot and the hardware, it also made maintenance a lot easier, by cleaning of the brackets etc. |
Full Text | FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates a paint for protecting materials from wear. More particularly, the present invention relates to a refractory based paint coating on galvanizing pot hardware for protecting wear and for easy maintenance. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Different pot materials have been tried all over the world and tested, for ensuring long life of the main zinc pot housing the molten zinc, in a continuous galvanizing line. Using a simple refractory based coating, in water medium, on the surface of pot hardware like sink-roll arms and brackets and on the inner wall of the pot has been found to remarkable reduce the erosion of the mother metal by zinc, which is corrosive to iron at higher temperatures. Prior to its usage, the pot walls used to get eroded over time and lead to unprecedented leakage and puncture at odd places. The sink roll arms/ brackets used to get eaten up by the molten zinc and replacement or repair became time- consuming and hazardous to the contractors. In order to overcome such prior Art practical problem, the present invention developed a refractory paint coating which on application to material surface eliminates such problem. OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION It is the therefore an object of the present invention to propose a refractory based paint coating on galvanizing pot ware for protecting wear which eliminates the disadvantages of prior Art. 3 Another object of the present invention is to propose a refractory based paint coating on galvanizing pot ware for protecting wear which helps in maintenance work. A further object of the present invention is to propose a refractory based paint coating on galvanizing pot wear for protecting wear which leds to longer life of galvanizing pot and the hardware. A still further objection of the present invention is to propose a refractory based paint coating on galvanizing pot wear for protecting wear which prevent the pot from cracking. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The refractory based paint that is used to protect the surface of the hardware in the galvanizing pot, including the sink roll arms and the inner surface of the steel tank is comprising of a aqueous solution of refractory materials having following composition Graphite -18 -20% Silica Flour - 45 - 50% Silim anite - 15 - 17% Emc - 1.5 - 2% Balance - water The refractory based paint made of the above mentioned composition is applied as it is on clean metal surface with the help a paint brush; Once it is dried, a second Coat is applied and depending upon the severity of attack. 4 A third coat can also be applied after proper drying out of the second coat. Using of three coats of this paint on the fresh surface, prior to the first usage has been found to prevent the arrack. This is not only led to longer life of the pot and the hardware, it also made maintenance a lot easier, by cleaning of the brackets etc. TESTING RESULT A water based paint with refractory component was applied three coats on the zinc pot and was found very effective in a hostile environment of 450° - 470° C, amidst a continuous turbulence of the zinc bath processing more than 100000 tons of CR Coil passing through the bath in a normal campaign. An scanning electron Microcopies analysis was carried out of the inner walls of the zinc pot treated with the paint revealed the differential presence of the effective elements. 1. Fig - 1 & 2 - show a photo figure of zinc pot NOT - Treated with the paint after SEM Analysis. 2. Fig - 3 - Show a photo figure of zinc pot Treated with the paint after SEM Analysis. 5 WE CLAIM 1. A refractory based paint to coat on Galvanizing pot-were for protecting wear and for easing maintenances Comprising :- An Aqueous solution of refractory compound having following Composition Graphite -18 -20% Silica Flour - 45 - 50% Silim anite - 15 - 17% Emc - 1.5 - 2% Balance - water 2. The refractory paint as claimed in claim 1 where in the paint is applied on clean the surface of Galvanize pot by means of a brush. 3. The refractory paint as claimed in claim 1 wherein the paint is very effective when applied plurality layers of coating. 4. The refractory paint as claimed in claim 1 wherein the paint is very effective even at elevated temperature. 5. The refractory paint as claimed in claim 1 where in the coating of said paint increases the galvanize pot life. The refractory based paint that is used to protect the surface of the hardware in the galvanizing pot, including the sink roll arms and the inner surface of the steel tank is comprising of a aqueous solution of refractory materials having following composition Graphite -18 -20% Silica Flour - 45 - 50% Silim anite - 15 - 17% Emc - 1.5 - 2% Balance - water The refractory based paint made of the above mentioned composition is applied as it is on clean metal surface with the help a paint brush; Once it is dried, a second Coat is applied and depending upon the severity of attack. A third coat can also be applied after proper drying out of the second coat. Using of three coats of this paint on the fresh surface, prior to the first usage has been found to prevent the arrack. This is not only led to longer life of the pot and the hardware, it also made maintenance a lot easier, by cleaning of the brackets etc. |
