Full Text A moulded article comprising a polypropylene composition, wherein said composition comprises a copolymer of propylene and a C4 alpha olefin and a propylene homopolymer and/or a second different propylene copolymer.







We Claim
1. A moulded article comprising a polypropylene composition, wherein said composition comprises a copolymer of propylene and a C4 alpha olefin and propylene homopolymer and/or a second different propylene copolymer.
2. An article as claimed in claim 1, wherein said second propylene copolymer is a propylene ethylene or propylene 1-butene copolymer,
3.. An article as claimed in claim 2, wherein said second propylene copolymer is a propylene 1-butene copolymer.
4. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said copolymer of propylene and a C4 alpha olefin comprises at least 0.5 %mol C4 alpha olefin.
5. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said copolymer of propylene and a C4 alpha olefin comprises 0.5-10 %mol butene.
6. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the total 1-butene content of the composition is at least 1 %mol.
7.. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the total 1-butene content of the composition is 1-7 %mol.
8. An artiele as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said copolymer(s) is a random copolymer.
9. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said polypropylene composition has a MFR2 of 5-30 g/10 mins.
10. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said polypropylene composition has a xylene soluble fraction from 0.1 to 20 wt%,
11. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said composition further comprises a nucleating agent.
12. An article as claimed in claim 11, wherein said nucleating agent is polymeric.
13. An article as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein said composition further comprises a reheat additive.
14. An article as claimed in any preceding claim having a haze of less than 10 % as measured on injection stretch blow moulded bottles having a thickness of 0.6 mm.
15. An article as claimed in any preceding claim having a mean surface roughness, Ra of less than 10 nm, preferably less than 2 nm.
16. An article as claimed in any preceding claim which is coated.
17. An article as claimed in any preceding claim which is plasma coated.
18. An article as claimed in claim 16 or 17, wherein said coated article has an oxygen permeation of less than 0.05 ml CVpck/d.

2J An article as claimed inany preceding claim which is an injection stretch blow moulded article.
22 A moulded article as claimed in claim 1 comprising a polypropylene composition, wherein said composition comprises
(i) a propylene homopolymer; and (ii) a copolymer of propylene with 1-butene; said composition having a xylene soluble fraction of 0.1 to 20 % and an overall comonomer content greater than 1.5 wt%,.
23. A moulded article as claimed in claim 1 comprising a polypropylene
composition, wherein said composition comprises
(i) a copolymer of propylene having more than 1 wt% comonomer; and (ii) a copolymer of propylene with at least 1 mol% 1-butene; said composition having a xylene soluble fraction of 0.1 to 20 %.
24. A moulded article as claimed in claim 1 comprising a homogeneous
polypropylene composition, wherein said composition comprises
(i) a copolymer of propylene having at least 1 wt% comonomer; and (ii) a copolymer of propylene with at least I mol % butene.
25. A process for the manufacture of an article as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 24 comprising moulding a polypropylene composition comprising a copolymer of propylene and a C4 alpha olefin and a propylene homopolymer and/or a second different propylene copolymer.
26. A process as claimed in claim 25 comprising injection stretch blow moulding said composition.
27. Use of a polypropylene composition as defined in any one of claims 1 to 24. for the manufacture of an article by moulding.
28. A polypropylene composition as defined in any one of claim 1 to 24.
