Full Text | FORM 2 THE PATENTS ACT 1970 (39 of 1970) & THE PATENTS RULES, 2003 PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION (See Section 10; rule 13) TITLE OF THE INVENTION "REAR FOG LAMP" APPLICANT TATA MOTORS LIMITED, an Indian company having its registered office at Bombay House, 24 Homi Mody Street, Hutatma Chowk, Mumbai 400 001 Maharashtra, India INVENTORS Govind K.Binani, Nitin Ramchandra Tikhe All Indian national of TATA MOTORS LIMITED, an Indian company having its registered office at Bombay House, 24 Homi Mody Street, Hutatma Chowk, Mumbai 400 001 Maharashtra, India PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION The following specification describes the invention 1 Field of Invention: The present invention relates to a rear lamp assembly, particularly, but not exclusively for use on a motor vehicle. Background: The rear fog lamp is a high wavelength illumination lamp that penetrates thick fog or mist and assists vehicle's identification in foggy conditions. Conventionally, there is a lamp assembly comprising a hollow body including a coloured lens, a reflex reflector within the hollow body attached with the lens for reflecting the incoming light to the bulb, a bulb holder for mounting the bulb on the body, and a fluorescent bulb fixed on the bulb holder for illuminating light. In the above mentioned design the intensity and effect of the colour during fog is not effective and doesn't give a clear view of the illuminating light. Thus, to overcome the aforementioned deficiencies it is desirable to improvise on the lamp design to improve the illumination of the light emitted by the rear fog lamp. Objects of the Invention: An object of the present invention relates to intensifying the illumination of the rear fog lamp. Another object of the present invention is to increase the vision of the rear fog lamp. Various modifications of the disclosed objects, as well as alternate objects of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the 2 description of the invention. It is therefore contemplated that such modifications can be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the present invention as defined. Description: To overcome the above deficiencies present in the conventional rear fog lamp assembly, the bulb used in the lamp assembly is coloured red instead of the red coloured lens which is turned transparent. This helps in improving the intensity of illumination and visibility of the red colour emitted by the rear fog lamp. The present invention relates to intensifying the illumination and visibility of the rear fog lamp. The use of coloured bulb instead of the florescent one and transparent lens instead of coloured one helps in improving the intensity and visibility of the rear fog lamp. Fig. 1 exemplarily illustrates an isometric view of the lamp assembly without the lens in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. A housing 600 covering a red coloured bulb 100 includes a bulb holder 700 attached to housing 600. The coloured bulb 100 fixed on the bulb holder 700. The housing is attached to the vehicle body by three fixing holes 500 integrated on the housing. Fig. 2 exemplarily illustrates a bottom view of the lamp assembly in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The housing 6 includes a transparent lens 200 and reflex reflector 400 placed on the lower side of the lens to reflect the incoming light. Also there is a cable with sleeve to connect two terminals 800 and 900. 3 Fig. 3 exemplarily illustrates a front view of the lamp assembly in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The housing 6 includes the reflex reflector 400 placed on the lower side of the lens 200 which is attached to the housing. The housing 6 is integrated with three fixing holes 500 used to attach the housing to the vehicle body. Although the invention has been described with reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention. It is therefore contemplated that such modifications can be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the present invention as defined.
