PURIFICATION OF CARRIER PROTEIN- ANTIGEN COMPLEXES
Abstract A method of isolating and purifying protein polysaccharide conjugates using hydrophobic interaction chromatography. Crude protein polysaccharide conjugate mixtures are subjected to ultrafiltration to remove unreacted protein, and loaded onto a column filled with a suitable hydrophobic resin. Elution is effected with salt solutions of decreasing ionic strength. Protein polysaccharide conjugates substantially free of unconjugated polysaccharide are provided.
