AN IMPROVED RECUPERATIVE HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM

Abstract

: An iaproved recuperative heat recovery system (l) comprising a 0110:81117 of seta (Z) of chambers, each set coaprising two chambers (9 & 10) separated by a middle wall (11), an inlet (3) for cold air (19) provided by a blower U), an Inlet (5) for hot fine gaaea (13) as outlet (6) for hot air (21) and another outlet (7) for cooled flue gaaea (13a) passing out a chimney, a lower chamber <B) below the said set of chambers; each set comprises two independepnt vertical box type refractory walled chambers (9 & 10), characterised in that one of the chambers on entry side of the flue gas is larger in dimensiona at cross section while the second adjacent chamber is r smaller in dimensions at oross section than the first one such that the first chamber (9) is having bigger volume than the second one; the said chambers are separated by a middle wall (11) of refractory material, there being provided the cross pasaages (H) at the lower end of the said refractory midale wall* The flue gases passing downwards through flue tubes suddenly expend when they enter the lower chamber and turn, as a result of which the solid particles (16) get dropped at the bottom at the said lower chamber; the gasea further travel towards the second chamber (10) and rise in the vertical flue tubes to pasa out as cooled flue '--gaaea to chimneyi cooled air obtained from blower enters the said recuperator and gas sea out as hot air to the furnace thereafter.
