Abstract

Abstract: This invention relates to nign speed, high precision bench type driling -cum-beveling machine (71) comprising a fixed table (1) carrying a detachably mounted tiltable table assembly (70) and carrying a detachably mounted fixed pillar (2) at its rear end and means at Its front end for fixing side brackets for said tiltable table assembly (70), said pillar (2) carries a slidably mounted bracket (4) mounted respectively on a bush and a lead screw (50) and front end of said bracket carries a fixed body (56) of spindle assembly(55) carrying a pulley block (15) at its top driven by a prime mover (36) through a nylon or like transmission cord (38), said spindle assembly (550 carries a pair of ball bearings (13-14) fitted on a bush bearing 12 fitted at top of a slidably mounted spindle (8) mounted in a slidable bush (57) fitted with two ball bearings (7-6) and earring a wheel (50) worked by a pinion (19) fitted with a hand lever (22) for vertically lifting/lowering said spindle 8 with respect to said fixed table (1) and a scale ring (28) with an alien screw (29) and adjustable stopper (30) for finely adjusting the vertical travel of said spindle (8J with respect to said fixed table (1) or said tiltable table (70) for carrying out high speed drilling/beveling jobs at speeds varying from 4000 to 20000 rpm.
