A half lap ior a circular combing machine for producing fine and superfine combed cotton yarn3 comprising a bare half lap, predetermined number of equidistanced slits provided on the surface of said bare half-lap for fitting needle strips of different densities from coarcer to finer gradually, adjutitment means provided on the Sfiid bore-half-lap for not only achieving half-lap to nipper setting closer but also even throughout the entire functional arc of the half-lap and between heads and the combing segment angle of the said half-lap being made 90 degree to incorporate predetermined edditional rows of needles.
