A WATER PURIFIER

Abstract

A water purifier consisting of a prefilter chamber (1) of two piece construction containing a prefilter pad (4) vertically disposed therein between the water inlet(2) and preflltered water outlet (8) thereof. The water purifier also consists of a housing (5) containing e filter chamber {9A) partitioned into a prefiltered water flow passage (7) and a filter compartment (9) K Verticelly by e vertical wall (7A)• The prefiltered water outlet ia connected to the lower end of the passage (7)» The upper ends of the passage (7) and compartment (9) are interconnected by an opening (10) in the vertical wall. A spiral wound ultrafiltration membrane module (15) is vertically disposed in the . compartment and it comprises an ultrafiltration membrane (15A) spirally would on a perforated tube (15B) with netted dpacers (15C) between the membrane windings and covered by a non-porous material sheet (15E). The pores size of the membrane is 0.2 to 0.005 micrones. ThB housing further contains a water storage tan I; (16) whose upper end ia connected to the perforated tube through a float VBIVB (23). The lower end of the Btorage tank' is provided with a pure water outlet (29) fitted with a pure water discharge valve ( 30) • The water purifier also cons is ts of -a flush water discharge valve (35) associated with the prefilter chamber (Fig.D.
