The following specification particularly describes the nature of this invention & the manner in which it is performed: The present invention relates to a tablet disintegration tester. This machine tests and registers the disintegration time of medicinal tablets. Description of prior art: - Tablet disintegration does not imply complete solution of the unit or even its active constituent. Complete disintegration is defined as that state in which any residue of the unit (except fragments of insoluble coating or capsule shell) remaining on the screen of the test apparatus, is a soft mass having no palpably firm core. This disintegration time for medicinal tablets is tested with the help of a tablet disintegration tester. Tablet disintegration is checked for all medicinal tablets except chewable tablets, or those which are intended to be used as troches, or modified (controlled)- release tablets., * The tablet disintegration tester existing in the market is Electrolab"s MODEL ED-2L. This existing tester has the following features:- (1) Digital indicator for temperature with optically isolated electronic heater driver with water bath; (2) Electronic heater driver with water bath; (3) Smooth maintenance free drive; (3) Programmable timer in mins / sees; (4) Sleek and rugged; (5) Soft membrane key pad and splash proof panel; (5) Economically designed control panel; (6) Gearless drive; (7) Swivel free basket movement; (8) Green light illumination which increases visibility. Disadvantages of the prior art: - There is no printer interface; hence printout of test results is not possible. In the prior art, the user can take only one test at a time. Also, registration of disintegration time cannot be done. The loading and unloading of basket is not very easy due to snap-click loading. 2 Only one external temperature probe is present for both the baskets. Objects of the present invention: - The present invention should have a facility for parking of baskets outside the beaker. It should have a Printer and Keyboard interface for easy data input and output. The present invention should have a facility for taking two tests at a time, and registration of disintegration time should also be possible. The loading and unloading of baskets as well as Top Plate should be easy. The present invention should have an individual external temperature probe for each basket. Brief Description of drawingg:- Figure 1 shows an isometric view of the present invention. It illustrates acrylic moulded water bath (1), glass jar A (2), glass jar B (3), flip top (4)? basket A (5), basket B (6), perforated cylindrical Guided Disk (7), magnetic holder (8), temperature sensor (9), backlight Liquid Crystal Display (10). Description of the present of the invention:- The present invention is made up of Stainless Steel (SS 316) with powder coating. It has a clear acrylic moulded water bath (1) with two 1000 ml glass beakers (jars), namely jar A (2) and jar B (3). The water bath is covered by a flip top (4) and the mouths of the two beakers are open. There are two baskets (basket A (5) and basket B (6)) each with a 3 perforated cylindrical Guided Disk (7), and each carrying 6-test positions. Each basket has its own individual driving mechanism. The present invention is a Park out Disintegration tester, which means after completion or halting of disintegration process, the basket will park outside the beaker. The present invention has a magnetic holder (8) for easy click-loading and removal of basket from the instrument. Also the unique design helps to disassemble the basket within seconds for cleaning purpose. The driving mechanism comprises of two Single shaft 6V DC Stepper motors, one for each basket. There is also a 400-watt heater made of stainless steel (S.S. 304). A Stirrer, driven by a 12V DC motor, is provided for maintaining constant temperature. An external probe helps to monitor the temperature in each individual beaker. A float switch type water level sensor is provided to sense the water level in the beakers. A temperature sensor (9) is provided along with a Thermal cut out for sensing the-temperature.TWhen the temperature exceeds a safety limit, the temperature sensor activates Thermal cut out which cuts off the power to the heater. The Programmable Timer can be set for each basket upto 23 hrs: 59 min: 59 sec. The Readable temperature range is from 10.0 ° C to 45 ° C whereas the Controlled temperature range is from 30.0 ° C to 40 " C with 0.1 ° C Temperature resolution. A backlight LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) (10) displays the output of the test. It has Keyboard interface for data input and RS232 Port parallel port interface with the printer. The present invention supports 80 column D ot matrix printers, HP DeskJet, HP LaserJet. It is connected to 230 V AC Mains Power supply. When the motor is started, the arms to which the baskets are attached move up and down at 30 ± 0.5 strokes / min. Stroke height (the distance through which the baskets travel during each stroke) is 55 +2 mm. There are two different modes of operation of the present invention - Dual Timer Mode and Registration Mode, Dual Timer Mode: - In this mode, tests having different disintegration time can be performed simultaneously or separately. The basket time can be programmed individually for basket A & B. The display will show separate time for basket A & B. 4 Registration mode: - In this mode, tests having different disintegration time can be performed simultaneously or separately. In addition to this, the disintegration time for individual basket tube can be registered In this mode, during the test, data can be saved in memory, so the verification can be done for each tablet The unique design has a timer for each of the 6 individual baskets, after pressing a button time is registered by the equipment and then it displayed on the LCD display, same can be printed at the end of the each test It should be understood that the present invention has been described with respect to one embodiment; hence the accompanying figures are not limiting in any" respect but are merely for illustrative purpose. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that numerous other variations and modifications are possible without deviating from the spirit and scope of the invention. Advantages of the present invention:- In the present invention, at the end of the test, the basket parks outside the beaker, whereas in the prior art, the basket parks inside the beaker. The present invention has a facility for validation and calibration for stroke height as well as for strokes / min. It has Programmable temperature range from 30 ° C to 40 ° C with auto calibration. It has Keyboard interface for data input and RS232 Port parallel port interface with the printer.
