Abstract

Scalpton composition for a wider spectrum of symptoms of hair falling, dandruff, premature graying itching scalp, irritation and dryness of scalp comprising Acidum Fluoricum, Acidum Phosphoricum, Arsenicum Album, Kali Muriaticum, Kali Sulphuricum, Natrum Muriaticum, Phosphorus, Vinca Minor in equal proportion having potencies of items 1,2,3 & 6 to 8 ranging from 6 to 200 on centesimal scale and for items 4 & 5 ranging from 6 to 30 on centesimal scale wherein the ingredients are potentized in 90% alcohol or distilled water individually before mixing in equal proportion.

This invention relates to Scalptone composition in Homoeopathy.BACKGROUNDHead contains between 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 hairs of which 100 are shed; everyday. When number of hair lost exceeds this, hair fall or thining of hair is noticed. Scalp dryness leads to various problems like, dandruff, hair dullness and ultimately hair loss. The colour of the hair depends upon the pigment melanin present in the hair. Greying starts when melanogenic activity is reduced. Early greying is usually hereditary but cause of premature greying is not known in many cases. Various reasons can lead to loss of hair, like, rubbing or pulling hair, severe or sudden stress, serious illness, high fever, major surgery, thyroid and iron deficiency. Dandruff is a common condition in which the scalp is covered with small (lakes of dead skin. The ilakes come away when hair is brushed or combed which represent an increase in the normal loss of outermost skin. Some type of dandruffs are accompanied by inflammation of scalp. If sebum produced by the sebacious gland is reduced, the hair becomes dry and brittle. An Homoeopathic doctor will prescribe Phosphorus for a patient whose hair falls out in bunches (Alopecia) and for a person who has started losing hair after mental shock may be prescribed Acidum Phosphoricum. .In case, a patient has alopecia along with intense itching of scalp, Acid Fluoricum and Vinca Minor may be prescribed together.The object of this invention is to simplify the prescription by doctor for a. large group of patients and to cover wider-spectrum symptoms in hair falling, dandruff, premature greying, itching of scalp, irritation,-dryness of scalp in a single Homoeopathic composition consisting of herb and chemical salts. To achieve the said objective, this invention provides Scalptone composition for a wider spectrum of symptoms of hair falling, dandruff, premature greying, itching scalp, irritation and dryness of scalp which comprises. Acidum Fluoricum Acidum Phosphoricum Arsenicum Album Kali Muriaticum ! Kali Sulpluiricum Natrum Muriaticum Phosphorus Vinca Minor in equal proportion having potencies for items 1,2,3 & 6 to 8 ranging from 6 to 200 on centesimal scale and for items 4 & 5 ranging from 6 to 30 on centesimal scale. In the aforesaid composition all are salts and item 8 viz. Vinca Minor is the extract of the herb. The aforesaid ingredients are potentised in either alcohol or distilled water in pre-determined potency preferably the items 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 of the composition in 30 on centesimal scale and the remaining to 6 on centesimal scale.To prepare the tablets, the above mentioned composition is mixed in lactose in the ratio 1:10 for making the tablets of 100 mg or 250 mg.This invention further includes a process of preparing Scalptone composition which comprises mixing in equal proportion at ambient temperature the following, ingredients. The potencies of items 1,2,3 & 6 to 8 in the above mentioned composition ranges from 6 to 200 and the remaining ingredients in item 4 and 5 the potency preferably ranges from 6 to 30. All these ingredients are potentised in 90% alcohol or distilled water separately before mixing in equal proportion. The tablets of 100 mg and 250 mg are prepared by mixing the above composition in lactose in the ratio 1:10. Except Vinca Minor, which is herb and the remaining ingredients are salts. Example.! The Scalptone composition is prepared by mixing in equal proportion at anbient temperature the following ingredients. Ingredients Potency Acidum Fluoriciun 30 Acidum Phospnoncum 30 Arsenicum Album 30 ' Kali Muriaticum 6 Kali Sulphuricum 6 Natrum Muriaticum 30 Phosphoricum 30 Vinca Minor 30 The tablets are prepared by mixing the above composition in lactose in the v, ratio 1:10. These tablets are known as Scalptone and are prescribed for patients depending upon the age and acuteness of the disease. Even the patients can themselves take these tablets depending upon the condition of the patients without doctors prescription. Normally, the doses given is 4 tablets of 100 mg 4 times a day for adults. The details of the treatment are given in the clinical report. Scalptone composition as claimed claim 1 wherein except Vinca Minor all ingredients in the composition are salts, and said vinca minor is used as extract of the whole fresh plant. 3. Scalptone composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the ingredients of the composition are potentised in either alcohol or distilled water in pre-determined potency preferably the items 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 of the composition to 30 on centesimal scale and the remaining to 6 on centesimal scale. 4. Scalptone composition as claimed in claim 1 wherein the ingredients of the composition are mixed in lactose in the ratio 1:10 for making the tablets of 100 mg or 250 mg.
