Abstract A process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed characterized in that the steps of disposing fabric/leather between the bottom most plate (1) and 2nd bottom most plate (2), switching the vacuum on, placing the 2nd top most plate (3) on the second bottom most plate (2) following by lifting of the second top most plate (3), pouring of polyurethane in the mould and closing of the top most plate (4) over the second bottom most plate (2).
Full Text FIELD OF INVENTION
This invention relates to a process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed.
PRIOR ART
A method of manufacture of polyurethane footbed has been suggested in the prior art, which is done manually. In this method polyurethane casting machine is used, on which a mould consisting of two plates is fitted. The method comprises steps of: placing of fabric/leather on the bottom of the top plate with the help of vacuum/pins, pouring of polyurethane in the cavity of bottom plate, demoulding the unfinished footbed after completing the cycle time, trimming of unwanted/extra portion of leather/fabrics followed by cleaning of uncovered polyurethane portion with solvents, application of adhesive on the sides of polyurethane and fabric/leather, heat activating the portion where adhesive is applied by the heat activating machine and folding of the fabric/leather footbed on the folding machine manually. The folding may generate wrinkles.
The above-mentioned process is time consuming, costly, requires more manpower and space besides resulting also in poor quality product.

Hence, it is evident from the above description that, there is a need of a process, which can obviate the disadvantages of prior art.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
A primary object of this invention is to propose a process for manufacture of Polyurethane footbed and a mould for manufacture of polyurethane footbed.
Another object of this invention is to propose a process for manufacture of Polyurethane footed and a mould for manufacture of polyurethane footbed, which can overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION
According to this invention there is provided a process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed comprises steps of disposing fabric/leather between the bottom most plate and 2" bottom most plate, switching the vaccum on, placing the 2nd top most plate on the second bottom most plate followed by lifting of the second top most plate, puring of , polyurethane in the mould and closing of the top most plate over the second bottom most plate.

Further, according to this invention there is provided a mould for the manufacture of polyurethane footbed comprises 4 plates as herein described.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION WITH REFERENCE TO ACCOMPANYING DRAWINGS.
Reference is made to figs 1 and 2.
The process of the present invention comprising the following steps:
a) A mould (M) consisting of 4 plates is fitted on the polyurethane casting machine.
b) The fabric/leather is placed on the bottom most plate (1).
c) 2nd bottom most plate (2) is placed on the bottom most plate.
d) The vaccum is switched on.
e) The 2nd top most plate (3) is placed over the 2nd bottom most plate (2) for 5-15 seconds and then lifted.

(f)Polyurethane is poured in the mould and top most plate (4) is closed over the 2nd bottom most plate (2) and after completing the cycle time, the footbed is taken out.
(g)Extra flash of fabric/leather is trimmed.
The footbed thus prepared is ready for dispatch. The instant invention is a process which is less time consuming and cheaper as compared to the prior art. Further, the present invention requires less space and substantially less man power, besides resulting in a better quality product.
Bottom most plate is screwed with the bottom plate to fix the mould on machine on which it is to be manufactured. The bottom plate is made with vacuum holes provided at the edge of the cavity where the folding is required. The cavity in the bottom plate has the shape of the footbed top portion.
Middle plate which is screwed (with the help of hinges) with the bottom plate is used for holding the fabric/heather till the time the vacuum is switched on.
Top plate having the shape of footbed bottom is put on the top of middle plate by the machine after the polyurethane is porred.
It is to be noted that the present invention is susceptible to modifications, Adaptations and changes by those skilled in the art. Such variant embodiments employing the concepts and features of this invention are intended to be within the scope of the present invention, which is further set forth under the following claims:-




WE CLAIM;
1. A process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed characterized in that the steps of disposing fabric/leather between the bottom most plate (1) and 2nd bottom most plate (2), switching the vacuum on, placing the 2nd top most plate (3) on the second bottom most plate (2) following by lifting of the second top most plate (3), pouring of polyurethane in the mould and closing of the top most plate (4) over the second bottom most plate (2).
2. A process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed as claimed in claim 1 wherein after the step of pouring polyurethane in the mould, the footbed is taken out after the cycle time.
3. A process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed as claimed in claim 2 wherein the extra flash of fabric/leather is trimmed.
4. A process for manufacture of polyurethane footbed substantially as herein described.
