Full Text | 379/MAS/95 Abstract of the Invention "A synergistic herbicidal composition" A synergistic herbicidal composition comprising (a) 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonylbenzoyl)-1,3-cyclohexanedione or 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonyloxybenzoyl)-1,3-cyclohexanedione and (b) 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-S-triazine. Also disclosed is a method of controlling undesirable vegeta¬tion by applying and effective amount of such composition to the locus of the vegetation to be controlled. WE CLAIM: 1. A synergistic herbicidal composition comprising (a) 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonylbenzoyl)-l,3-cyclohexanedione or 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonyloxybenzoyl)-l,3-cyclohexane-dione; and (b) 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-S-triazine. 2. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the weight ratio of component (a) to component (b) is between 1:50 and 1:1. 3. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein the weight ratio of component (a) to component (b) is between 1:40 and 4:5. 4. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein component (a) is 2-(2'-nitro-4' -methylsulfony lbenzoy 1)-1,3 -cyclohexanedione. 5. A method of controlling undesirable vegetation comprising applying to the locus of such vegetation an effective amount of a synergistic herbicidal composition comprising (a) 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonylbenzoyl)-l,3-cyclohexanedione or 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonyloxybenzoyl)-1,3-cyclohexane-dione; and (b) 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-S-triazine. 6. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein the weight ratio of component (a) to component (b) is between 1:50 and 1:1. 7. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the weight ratio of component (a) to component (b) is between 1:40 and 5:5. 8. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein component (a) 2-(2'-nitro-4'-methylsulfonylbenzoyl)-1,3-cyclohexanedione. 9. The method as claimed in claim 5, wherein said composition is applied postemergence. |
