Abstract Steam trap is provided with contour flanges integrally formed on both sides. The said contour flanges are provided with contours on four corners. On both sides of said steam trap extending beyond said contour flanges circular projections are provided. The holes are provided on the centre of said contour flanges. The serrations are provided on the annular surface between the said holes and outer diameter of the said circular projections of said contour flanges. The said steam trap is sandwiched/fixed between customer flanges. Gaskets are sandwiched between the said contour flanges and said customer flanges. The said serrations pinch into the said gaskets for proper sealing. Bolts pass from the said customer flanges and further assembly is fastened by nuts. The said contours provided on the said contour flanges guide the bolts to be fixed in place.

The following specification particularly describes the invention and the manner in which it is to be performed.

4. DESCRIPTION (Description starts from page 2)

5. CLAIMS:

N.A

6. DATE AND SIGNATURE: Given at the end of last page of specification.
7. ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: N.A Enclosed

FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to in-line fitment of thermodynamic steam traps. More particularly, it relates to a unique thermodynamic steam trap, which performs the function of draining condensate from a steam line through the steam trap.
PRIOR ART:
In the conventional system, fitment of thermodynamic steam trap on a pipeline is done in a way wherein it is screwed / welded on a pipe on both sides with flange at one end and a thermodynamic steam trap on the other side of the pipeline. The two flanges duly screwed / welded are screwed with nut-bolts to mating pipe line flanges .i.e customer flanges.
As shown in figure"!, a steam trap(1) is attached to the flanges(5) by a pipe(4) through welding/screwing at positions(2) and (3) on both sides. The flanges (5) are further attached to customer flanges(6) with nut-bolts.
DEFICIENCIES OF PRIOR ART:
1. The conventional method involves more number of screwed / welded joints.
2. That the amount of space required to accommodate the conventional thermodynamic steam trap is more.
3. That the conventional thermodynamic steam traps is heavy and therefore its fitment is difficult to assemble.
2

4. That the conventional thermodynamic steam traps involve more cost and time for processing (screwing/welding/assembly).
5. That the conventional thermodynamic stream trap involves more transportation cost.
SUMMARY:
With a view to overcome the deficiencies found in the prior art, the present invention is introduced. The present invention comprises of a flange compatible profile, which is provided at the either end of the trap and is integral to the trap. This construction eliminates the need of screwed/welded flanges. The construction also facilitates direct fitment of the trap between two mating pipeline flanges with the help of suitable components (nut, bolt, gaskets)
The present invention is directed towards a wafer/sandwich type of thermodynamic steam trap to make the trap "flange compatible".
The purpose of the invention is to develop a thermodynamic trap, which offers less weight, less space to accommodate thermodynamic trap and is also cost effective as compared to the conventional flanged traps.
The present invention also aims at reducing the number of joints either screwed or welded and eliminating flanges, which are fitted to the steam trap
ADVANTAGES OF PRESENT INVENTION:
1. The present invention reduces number of joints, which are either screwed or welded.
3

2. That the space required for accommodating thermodynamic steam trap is
reduced.
3. That the weight of thermodynamic steam trap is reduced.
4. That there is a huge reduction in the cost of production with the present
invention.
5. That the time for assembly and dismantling of steam trap is reduced.
6. That there is no possibility of leakages as serrated flanges with gaskets are more efficient.
STATEMENT OF THE INVENTION:
A thermodynamic steam trap comprising Steam trap, contour flange, contours, circular projections, holes, Serrations, gaskets, customer flanges, bolts and nuts.
Steam trap is provided with contour flanges integrally formed on both sides. The contour flanges are provided with contours on four corners. On both sides of steam trap extending beyond contour flanges circular projections are provided. The holes are provided on the centre of contour flanges. The serrations are provided on the annular surface between the holes and outer diameter of the circular projections of contour flanges. The steam trap is sandwiched/fixed between customer flanges. Gaskets are sandwiched between the contour flanges and customer flanges. The serrations pinch into the gaskets for proper sealing. Bolts pass from the customer flanges and further

assembly is fastened by nuts. The contours provided on the contour flanges guides the bolts to be fixed in place.
DESCRIPTION OF PRESENT INVENTION:
Detailed description of the preferred embodiment are provided herein; however, it is to be understood that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or matter.
The present invention is now described with the help of figures 1 and 2. Figure 2 is the front view of the thermodynamic steam trap. Figure 3 is the side view of the thermodynamic steam trap.
A steam trap(1) is provided with contours flanges(2) integrally formed on both sides. The contour flanges(2)are provided with contours(3) on four corners of the contour flanges(2).On both sides of steam trap(1) extending beyond contour flanges(2) circular projections(4) are provided. The holes(5) are provided on the centre of contour flanges(2). The serrations(6) are provided on the annular surface between holes(6) and outer diameter of the circular projections(4) of contour flanges(2). The steam trap(1) is sandwiched/fixed between customer flanges(8). Gaskets(7) are sandwiched between contour flanges(2) and customer flanges(8). The serrations(6) pinch into gaskets(7) for proper sealing. The bolts(9) pass from the customer flanges(8) and further assembly is fastened by nuts(10). The contours(3) provided on contour flanges(2) guide the bolts(9) to be fixed in place.
