Full Text | FORM 2 THE PATENT ACT 1970 & The Patents Rules, 2003 PROVISIONAL / COMPLETE SPECIFICATION (See section 10 and rule 13) 1. TITLE OF THE INVENTION "AN IMPROVED MODULAR STEAM GENERATOR." 2. APPLICANT (a) NAME : J.N.MARSHALL PRIVATE LIMITED. (b) NATIONALITY: An Indian Company registered under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1956. (c) ADDRESS : PB No.29, MUMBAI- PUNE ROAD, KASARWADI, PUNE-411034, Maharashtra State, India. 3. PREAMBLE TO THE DESCRIPTION PROVISIONAL The following specification; invention. COMPLETE The following specification particularly Describes the invention and the manner in Which it is to be performed. 4.DESCRIPTION (Description starts from page 2) 5. CLAIMS: Given on a separate sheet 6. DATE AND SIGNATURE: Given at the end of last page of specification. 7. ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION: Given on a separate sheet 1 Technical Field: The present invention relates to a modular steam generator/ boiler and its related accessories required for smooth operation of the steam generator/boiler. More particularly the present invention relates to a boiler house with accessories and interconnecting piping. Prior Art: Conventionally, boilers in use are required separate space for feed water tank and day oil tank. These tanks are kept at elevated heights, which needs staging and civil/mechanical construction of platform. At present all accessories are manufactured separately either by boiler manufacturer or any other fabricator which is normally done insitu. Further all interconnecting piping will be at site to suit site conditions/ layout. Deficiencies of Prior Art: 1. Floor space required for boiler, feed water tank and day oil tank results into big boiler house. 2. Separate platform is required to keep tanks at elevated heights. 3. Bigger boiler house, civil construction, cost of platform, fabrication of interconnecting piping and header leads to higher cost. 4. Erection, installation and assembly at site take more time as accessories supplied loose needs to be assembled. 5. Pressure drop in piping is more because of long length of piping. 6. Separate base coil and /or electric heater with control panel is required for oil heating. 2 Summary: The present invention comprises of a modular boiler with accessories which can be completely shop assembled unit i.e. no site work involved, alternatively can be sent in dissembled condition for ease of transportation and assembled quickly and easily at site. The object of the present invention is to reduce the erection time at site by modular construction. Another object of the present invention is to reduce the cost, as there is no civil construction, structural supports and fabrication of interconnecting piping required at site. No additional design & drawings required since all requisites are providing appropriate utility connections are present. The purpose of the present invention is to have improvement in quality as all the accessories and piping manufactured are assembled at factory and then dispatched to site i.e. to minimise the site work. Another purpose of the present invention is to eliminate separate oil heater to heat the oil, depending upon the type of fuel used. The aim of the present invention is to save time by dispatching the preassembled boiler. Advantages of Present Invention: 1. Due to modular construction, the tanks mounted on boiler require less space. 2. No separate platform is required to keep tanks at elevated heights. 3. Total project cost is reduced as no additional civil construction, structural supports and fabrication of interconnecting piping required at site. 4. Less commissioning time is required as dispatched preassembled. 3 5. Equipped with base required piping results to lower pressure drop. 6. No separate heating arrangement is required as heat from hot water in the unit is utilized for oil heating, depending upon the type of fuel used. Statement of the Invention: A modular steam generator/ boiler comprising of boiler, burner, combination tank, interconnecting piping, supporting structure for tank, control panel. Combination tank comprising of feed water tank, day oil tank and double metal partition with two vents between these tanks is supported by the supporting structure and duly insulated from all sides. The feed water tank contains water which can be heated by return of condensate from plant or by live steam injection and day oil tank contains fuel oil. The double metal partition conducts heat from hot water in the feed water tank to oil in the day oil tank if required depending upon the fuel. The feed water tank is provided without or with necessary mountings, valves and instrumentation accessories such as level indicator & controller, steam injector, deaerator head with vacuum breaker & air vent, vent head, temperature regulator, control valves. The day oil tank is provided without or with necessary mountings, valve and instrumentation accessories such as outflow heater, level indicator & controller, temperature regulator, control valves. Interconnecting piping of boiler comprises of piping from day oil tank to burner, piping from feed water tank to feed water pump, oil drain piping, water drain piping. Description of Present Invention: Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein; however, it is to be understood that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or matter. 4 Construction: The present invention is illustrated in figures land 2 of the accompanying drawings. Figure 1. shows the front view of the modular steam generator/boiler. Figure 2. shows the top view of the modular steam generator / boiler.
